Has anyone ever found the experience of learning to drive with their father absolutely traumatizing?

    Haven't been in that situation,
but I had to teach my mother how to drive. That was some traumatizing s%&t right there. The day she almost ran a guy on his bicycle over was the end of it!

Do yourself a favour and get some paid driving lessons instead. The experience of being taught to drive by my father has scared me for life!!!!

Try learning to drive with your other half! lol. Absolute NIGHTMARE...and actually in all seriousness, genuinely did not help our relationship at the time. To have someone tell you that you're driving at 2 miles over the speed limit is an absolute joke when they have repeatedly broken the speed limit with consequences.......need i say more?

I would NOT want to go there again, that's for sure.

I have been getting driving lesson also....But in Ireland, it's illegal to drive on a learner permit , and i'm using my dad's car, and he'll only let me drive with him and my instructor, and I only see my instructor once a week. I have made out a list of rules for when we are in the car and I'm driving, and all he does is scream his head off. Don't know how I'm suppose to learn :(
  • Yes, I just got yelled at the entire time.

The next week, I asked for the keys, he handed them to me and I taught myself

I got "taught" by my mother. Never actually got a chance to get my license & after that experience I didn't get my actual license until 5 years later, when my fiance went with me. Much better that time around.
