RunKeeper problems

So, my RunKeeper App is totally hit or miss. Some days it works great and I love it. Other days (like today) it says I ran 6.8 miles (um, no. More like 3) at a 2:30 min pace, which is totally frustrating. Does anyone else have this problem? Can I fix it or is there an app that works better?

I've only had that once, but then I realised I had it on "cycling" when I was actually running. It completely messed itself up then. But normally it's just fine, and pretty accurate.

Could the internet reception on your phone be bad in the area you were running today?

I had this problem also. I switched to Strava Running for Android. It's amazing. Good luck!

Sorry - not sure. But on Saturday, due to spotty phone reception, I logged in at 48 thousand miles!
(It was about an 8 mile hike. Factor of 6x error!)

ETA: OP - are you running in the same place and sometimes it works an sometimes it bugs out? That IS weird :noway:

Not just you. The other day, it told me I ran my first 0.5miles in 7 seconds (200mph).

I find that it works a bit better after I restart my phone.

Yep, pretty much the same route every time. And it says my GPS signal is good.

Yes - I have had the same problem! One fix I found on their website is to make sure your wifi is OFF. Other than that, make sure the GPS signal is green and says GOOD before you press start. I often walk to my actual starting point, and I don't start the app until I get there. And half the time the signal goes bad - there's something about that spot that is wonky, so I wait until the signal is green, then go for it.

Hope that helps and you can get yours to work properly! Nothing like hearing that you're running like a superhero in the first five minutes when you know you aren't.

Edited to add: Oops, didn't see your post about the signal being good...so maybe it's the wifi?

That happened to me the day of my 1st half marathon. It had been fine all during training and then during the race it was telling me I was doing like 6 min miles (ya right). Very frustrating. I did drop my phone at the beginning of the race. Afterwards I restarted the phone. It seems to work again now, but I still don't quite trust it! I might try that other app suggested above.

Runkeeper have now recognised this issue and since the last update I have not had a problem with it,
