What does your shopping list look like?

Hey everyone! I'm just trying to get a feel for what my weekly shopping list should look like... I either don't buy enough or I buy way too much! I always buy fresh veggies with the intention of cooking them, but they often go bad before I get around to it
I'm just wanting to see what all of your choices are at the grocery store, farmers market, or wherever. I'm desperate to find a balance!

I tend to shop food that does not go bad at the supermarket, i.e. meat and fish which can be frozen and some frozen veg. Throughout the week I visit the local shops and buy the fruit and veg for that day. I use to waste so much money on throwing away veg that was going off.0

Here is my current grocery list (I left out the non-food things like toilet paper, soap, etc.)
veggies for salads (greens, tomotoes, cucumbers, peppers, mushrooms, sprouts)
veggies for wraps (same as above)
veggies for soup (celery, carrots, potatoes, canned tomotoes, cabbage, peas)
veggies for dinner to go with meat (turnip, squash, beans, cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts, corn on the cob)
fresh garlic
fresh herbs/spices
fruit (whatever is on sale... melon, berries, apples, oranges, bananas, etc.)

eggs

fat-free sour cream
low fat cream cheese

Force yourself to cut up/store your veggies and fruit as soon as you get home and that way, you will be more apt to use them. Also, plan your meals around what goes bad first. For example, for my lunches (that I bring to work)... I'll have salads the first week, I'll make a vegetable/chicken soup the next week and bring that and the third week, I'll bring tuna sandwiches or frozen dinners.0 -
