yesterday i was running on the treadmill and was really getting into my music and ended up falling right off the damn thing (sideways - not sure how I managed to fall off sideways)! Everyone was looking at me like I had three heads so I just shook it off and went back to my running. I felt fine until this morning and now I have a swollen ankle and a clicking knee... lol sometimes I am just soooooooooooooo graceful hahaha

Any one else have some awesome/funny gym mishaps?

    No but it is my fear....I can not walk straight and I have to hold on while on the treadmill. If I don't I can't keep up

    I proped my iphone up on the treadmill then caught my headphone cable with my arm and it dropped onto the treadmill and went flying off over the other side of the gym.. bit embarrassing lol!

    I was running while watching a hockey game one time (not a good idea). The opposing team scored and I fell off the side of the treadmill, HOWEVER, I managed to wrap my arm around the side, so I was essentially swinging around the side of the treadmill like a monkey. Good sight.

    Just the other day, I put my treadmill to an easy 5.0 and was running along when a good song came on. I apparently started running faster than my treadmill and half of me flipped over the front.

    I've done that twice in the last year-ish. Landing on a different knee on concrete steps each time. The last time was about 6 months ago and my knee still hurts and has a lump. It's better than falling down the stairs though I guess.

    As for treadmill mishaps-- I was just talking to my husband the other day about what I'm going to do when it's yucky and wintery and can't run outside. I 100% KNOW I don't have the coordination to run on a treadmill without falling off. I would be surprised if I actually ran on a treadmill and didn't fall off.
  • I was at the gym (without my glasses of course) trying to focus on the 20 tvs when I had to close my eyes for a minute because they were bugging out which made me dizzy and I fell off the back of the treadmill. As everyone stared at me, I was like, what? doesnt everyone do that? lol

    Not the treadmill but here is mine;

    I was doing a tricep extension in my home gym with a questionable dumbbell (the kind where you can add and subtract more weight) we bought off of some guy on Kijiji.
    My husband is usually there with me but he went up to make dinner (rare occurence), While doing the tricep extension on the incline bench the dumbell snapped apart and 15 pounds of metal fell... right onto my face. I got up and felt something in my mouth and felt blood. I ran upstairs to my husband where I presented him with a bleeding lip, a cracked tooth and a beginning to puff eye. He quickly iced my wounds and it minimized the after effect.

    Took a while for me to ever do another tricep extension, they still make me nervous but luckily the tooth was fixable and I didn't break my face. Husband however proclaimed to never make dinner again cause "**** just goes wrong"... convenient.

    I didn't fall off the treadmill, but I did get off mine and slice my leg on the one next to mine as I was leaving. That was embarassing.

    I have this really bad urge every now and then to turn around and walk backwards on mine. I usually supress it but not this time. Well I really suck at it and needless to say it's not something you just do one day with the speed at 3.5. But I thought 3.5 would be a really good speed to start at. Yup, I totally lost my balance, scared the crap outta me. Now when I look at that little red safety key while i'm running.... I kinda know it was probably designed for people like me haha:laugh:

    My dad told me about one time he was running on a treadmill in the gym at his work. Apparently one of his coworkers was about to hold a meeting and needed my dad to explain something about the topic before he did. So he goes into the gym and shouts my dad's name to get his attention, which completely startled him, which made him stumble and go flying backwards into the wall.

    Me! I'm tall and tend to over-run on the treadmill. I'll be doing my thing and the start hitting the front deck. Then its a scramble to slow down and back up without losing my balance. Thankfully I've not fallen yet. Those people that set it on stupid fast and hold on for dear life scare me. I can't help watching... I know one of them will eat it it someday.

    I know I shouldn't laugh, but OMG, I have tears in my eyes from the image I have in my mind!

    I believe in karma too, so bets on that something bad will happen to me on a treadmill.
