I would really appreciate if you guys can recommend low calories & filling after dinner snacks please. Currently I am using on average 260 calories on my after dinner snacks. If I can bring it to 150 that would be great.

skinny cow ice cream bars, a serving of multi-grain cheerios or Kashi go lean, veggies and hummus, an 8 oz glass of milk, a serving of nuts (may be a little over 150), a spoonful of peanut or other nut butter, just to name a few.

Sugar free Jello. I think it is 5-10 calories per cup. I eat it by the truck load.

I'm a big fan of the hot beverage! Decaf chai with some Splenda and milk is sort of like cinnamon toast in a cup -- yum! And very satisfying. About 45 calories, depending on how much milk you put in there.

Edy's SLOW CHURNED ice cream. Exactly the same as regular ice cream. The slow churned process makes it lower in calories. Depending on the flavor you buy, it is 110-130 cals per serving.

I second the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches. Around 140-150 calories each, 2g of fat, and not a bad source of calcium. Also, a mini bag of Orville Redenbacker kettle corn is good - less fat and a little sweetness compared to buttery types.

If I have to have an evening snack, I like to go for a cup of tea (something delicious by Let's Do Tea) or gourmet hot cocoa.

Tea has no calories so I can have as much as I want.

The hot cocoa is usually around 130-140 cals per packet (my favourite brand is Land O' Lakes) and I find it super filling, so I'm never going for a second helping.

Special K have crackers out now...a couple of different flavours (cheddar, sour cream and onion...).

If you need something crunchy, try cutting up mini cucumbers into good bite sized pieces. Sprinkle with a tiny bit of salt if you like. Surprizingly filling, and sooo good for you!

It is 160 cals for a hot chocolate but I just use two tsps of hot choc and that halves the cals and it is more than chocolaty enough. Pom-Bear crisps are great too you get loads and it's only 99 cals. Also love mini mix ice lollies from Aldi only 62 cals or if you have the chocolate ones they are 127.
  • nonfat yogurt, larabars, 100 cal kettle corn, green tea, string cheese, those are a few. I also have swiss hot chocolate packets that i drink sometimes. Also if i have some extra calories i'll make a healthy skillet pizza, which comes in at 300 cals. All you do is toast one whole grain tortilla on medium heat and then flip, top with 1/4 cup mozarella cheese (reduced fat), spread two tbs of marinera sauce, put another 1/4 cup mozarella cheese and reduce to low, top with some fresh basil, cover until melted. YUM!!

I always want something sweet after dinner. If you want something somewhat healthy to satisfy your sweet tooth, these are some options that i like : plain greek yogurt w/ honey, almonds, and cacao nibs
-almond butter on a banana or graham crackers
    - and figs are also really good.

A good, less healthy, but not crazy is calories thing to have is dark chocolate dove ice cream bars <3 yumm
  • i just came up with this last night to try, but i make a protein shake as my after dinner snack its sweet and it filled me up and kept me from snacking in the middle of the night any one else ever try this
  • Definitely agree with Jennilynncoco! Has anyone heard of Shakeology? I have one shake for breakfast after my workouts in the morning and then typically, after dinner if I'm still hungry, I'll have another shake before I go to sleep... I find it's really helped curb my sweet cravings and it's actually helped me lose some weight as well! :)
