What's your resting heart rate?

60 sitting at my desk. I haven't taken it upon awakening yet. It's lower than I would have thought, given that I'm very obese and only started exercising about a month and a half ago.
From what I've read, a better fitness measure is your recovery heart rate.0 -
My average is 43 (which is what it was when I checked my BP this morning.) I have recorded it as low as 36. It is a condition called Bradycardia. For me, it is hereditary.
I noticed another poster commented on recovery heart rate as a better measure of fitness, I think that is correct. One way to determine it is the difference between your heart rate immediately after exercise and your heart rate one minute after you stop exercise. For that measurement, 30-39 is good. Higher is better. I just started tracking mine this way and it averages 36 after my interval training on my bike but has been as high as 45 after a 60 minute bike ride.0 -
Mine was 74bpm when I first got a HRM (and I'd been living healthy for over a year then, so I have no idea what it was when I started). I got it down to 64bpm. I've been fully sedentary for the past few weeks due to illness - I kind of feel like I've lost ALL my fitness and it will be back up, but I doubt that really. I have no idea how much damage is done in two or three weeks, but I imagine it's nowhere near as horrific as it feels.
I have a ridiculously high active heart rate, though. Most people say your heart should never get as high as mine does when I'm running, but it's not that I'm anywhere near killing myself. I'm fairly normal, until I start moving.0 -
Blood pressure this morning is 118/66, RHR is 58. For an accurate reading, it's best to check it right when you wake up. Time of day and what you did in the last 24 hours can affect it.

At 5'1, 114 pounds, and age 20, I average about 60 bpm. Of course, then it's a pain in the butt when it only gets up to about 120,130 during fairly vigorous exercise, which according to the math is at the lower end of where I should be for a decent workout.0

Mine between 60 and 64, pretty fair but I run 3 times per week, right now only 25 minutes!0

Mine's between 50 & 55 too. I may be overweight but I guess I'm doing ok. Apparently good blood pressure too. Wonder if they go hand in hand?0

Today my resting heart rate was 59 and my blood pressure 85/52 (normal for me).0

Mine is 53 beats per min. It is slightly irregular. Beats normal for a count of 4 then slows for a count of 3 or 4.0

Mine is about 60, sometimes under sometimes a bit over, but resting I've never seen it above 70. I never checked that when I was heavier to compare, but I've had good blood pressure even when I was heavier. I used to be at the normal 120/80 but now am 100/70. xD It's pretty low, but I guess that's good? lol0

Mine is around 50-60. Going up to about 150-160 when I run!!

~ I recently slept with my HRM on and checked it several times throughout the night ... I averaged 53 ( but at one point recorded 63 ). It was an interesting experiment and I will do this again ... it's good info ! Really good to know I am somewhat resting at my fitness level.

Mine is now at 72! Before starting to workout and watch what I ate my heart rate resting was between 98 and 103! I guess thats a little NSV for me0

I had to attend the ER last week where a nurse taking my obs asked whether I had ever been told I had a low resting heart rate. I hadn't and asked her what it was.
after telling me that the 'normal' range was 60-80 beats per minute, she said mine was just 50 bpm!
I said that I was fairly fit and she "obviously!"
Which is why I need too take daily aspirin to help blood flow since the slow heart rate causes me to not get full blood flow to all my limbs (fingers, hands, feet all hurt most of the time or just go numb at times)
Also cause pain when you race your heart up to rapidly in a short time.
The one benefit of it is that since its a slower heart rate it allows me to stay more physically relaxed all day (too relaxed turns out too be lazy too others eyes). So you definitely not alone.0
