I have never ever eaten cottage cheese but everyone keeps saying its super good for a dip for your veggies....
I purchased it today, I got the 1% low fat,
i blended it with 2 cups of spinach and some milk, i am now dipping my carotte's and it doesn't taste like much???
How else do people eat it?
Thanks in advance:flowerforyou:

I finely chop red onion, red peppers, yellow peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes(vegetable vary) then I mix it with the cottage cheese and add a little seasoned salt. It is a delicious healthy salad!

I cut up an apple or some grapes and crush up some almonds and mix with the cottage cheese.
    Yummy
  • For a really yummy (treat) salad; Make sugar free jello, one container of lite cool whip, and about 2 cups of cottage cheese. My kids love it!

1/2 c nonfat cottage cheese and 1 tbsp low sugar strawberry jam is a super yummy sweet treat :) it comes out to about 120 cals and alll the protein in the cc fills you up
  • This may sound a little odd, but I LOVE green beans mixed in it OR top it with pineapple. I have to add salt and pepper if I eat it plain so I try to avoid that. Good luck!!! You can really try it with anything!

I use it several different ways.

 as dressing on my salad instead of salad dressing. Just add salt and pepper.

 as topping on a small baked potato instead of sour cream or butter. again add s&p

 with canned peaches, pears or pineapple. I rinse all the juice off the canned fruit first.

 mix with sugar free jello and your choice of fresh fruit.

 with tomato and cucumber and s&p.

This is exactly how I eat mine! I never add salt because it already has a TON of sodium.

Another posssibility is to add a little ketchup and a little pepper. I don't use much because I can actually cottage cheese just the way it comes.

I also use it instead of milk and regular cheese when I want to make scrambled eggs.

I eat cottage cheese w/ everything.

    * Add it to my oatmeal (after cooking)... makes it creamier and gives you more protein. Or you can make protein pancakes.

    * Mix it w/ yogurt and add in some fruit (blueberries, strawberries, peaches, nectarines, etc) Sprinkle w/ cinnamon and walnuts also.

    * Use it as a dip like you mentioned.

    * Use it to top a sweet potato + cinnamon. Yum!
