I eat about 1200 cals a day (i eat clean) and I exercise for at least 25 mins (High intensity training/running, and weights)
I've been stuck at 127 pounds for a while now... should I up my calories?
two things you need to know about me:
1. I have a really slow metabolism that's why I'm scared to increase my calories
2. I'm 5''1 and 18 yrs old.. 127lbs is considered a good amount of weight for my age but since I'm short it looks like I gain more... I read somewhere that the less you weigh, the harder it is to lose weight.
so yea, if anyone has advice please help me!!

I don't know how long a while is but if you've hit a plateau then I would suggest looking up some ways in order to break it. Eating more will help I'm sure but also try to change up your exercises. I hope you find more people to help you with your problem.0

it's a lot harder to lose weight when you don't have much excess to lose. Your body doesn't need as many calories just to maintain as somebody who weighs 200 pounds. So you have to have a really low calorie intake or high exercise level to lose more. I've reached that point. I weigh in at 160 now. 1200 calories a day isn't going to get me the 2 pounds a week that I was losing when i weighed 195 pounds.0 -
Your BMR is about 1400, your sedentary TDEE is therefore somewhere around 1680 - this is how many cals you burn a day when you don't exercise.
25 mins of high intensity cardio at your weight is going to burn let's say 150 cals.
So you're now burning 1830 cals per day.
Knock 20% off that for weight loss - you should be eating something like 1450 cals per day.
So my first suggestion would be to up your cals by 250 a day. It's possible this may actually increase your metabolism... there's a lot of factors involved in that - hormones, thermic effects of digestion etc. You don't need to worry about them, just understand that sometimes eating a little more can increase your metabolism.
Second suggestion would be to trade up some of that cardio exercise for heavy lifting instead - a couple of times a week maybe. You'll see more dramatic changes in your body from that than you would from losing those 7lbs you're talking about.
Third suggestion - at your weight - so very close to your goal weight, weighing yourself is just going to lead to frustration. Water retention from your period or increased sodium intake, food in your system etc. will all may your weight fluctuate even if your actual fatty tissue is decreasing. Put the scale away and use the mirror, your belt notch, a tap measure, photos or some other form of non-scale measuring instead.
Hope that helps.0 -

thanks so muchh, that really helped:)
I tried upping my calories on mfp but whenever I add food it shows that I've gone over my macro intakes..I eat way more protein than carbs, at least 70g of protein and mfp says I should only eat 55g but if I decrease my protein intake then the carb intake goes up:/0
