Tap water is perfectly safe and functional. That's what it's for. It won't however improve your image as we've all got a tap.0 -
Go tap. Buying bottled water is expensive and wasteful, in my opinion.0
-
I only drink bottled water when I'm out and want water. Everywhere we've lived, tap water has been fine.
Many bottled waters come from tap water somewhere0 -
In most areas of the United States, the purity regulations pertaining to tap water are more stringent than those for bottled.0
-
I drink tap at home...bottled at work from our water cooler. I think tap is just as good as bottled. sometimes they add so much stuff to bottled water to make it taste good, that it isn't that good for you.0
-
Tap water at home and work. Brita when at camp. Bottled if I'm out and forgot my Nalgene.0
-
I am fortunate to have access to a free, natural spring. The water is wonderful....its the only water I drink. I dont like the taste of tap water now....has too much of a metal taste to it. And you can see things floating in it where with the spring water there is NOTHING floating in it.
And, yes, its regularly tested because it a water source for the community my brother lives in.0 -
I drink tap water, bottled water and filtered at home water. My preference is bottled water or filtered water. I hate the taste of "spring" water. Tap water is OK but it doesn't have the same taste that filtered water have and I tend to drink more of the filtered water. I have drank 20 glasses in a day because I was able to drink the filtered water so easily
Edit: btw, some of the most delicious and sweet tasting water is well water. Oh my I can drink it all day0 -
Tap all the way! It's free, and it's delicious.0

I have a brita and I use it consistently throughout the day. When I go to my friends to workout, or I'm going to be away from the house and can't bring the brita with me I bring a couple bottled waters. So I always have a case of bottled water as back up. But I primarily use the brita to lessen the amount of garbage I'm producing.0
-
I drink tap water, but do have a reverse osmosis system hooked up so the water is cleaner and less chemicals then bottled or regular tap water.0
-
Several months ago a bought a case of water that I drink when I leave the house. However I save the bottles refill them and restock my fridge. So Bottled, then tap until the bottles need replaced. I buy a case of water maybe 3 times a year.0
-
I drink Aquafina because its pretty much the only water I think tastes ok. Don't like Dasani. I can also drink Evian or Fiji, but they're expensive. Our tap water tastes really chlorine-y, and even with a brita still tastes off a little, though I can drink it that way.0
-
If you are really concerned, get Brita water filtered pitcher or bottles. They are awesome! I use them both because our tap water is not the greatest IMO.0
-
Ok grab ur bottled water and look at where it says disolved solids or some say mineral salts, now 550 being the most legeally allowed and also the dirtiest... then have ur tap water tested most town offices do it free and see which is worse because every towns supply differs and every bottled brand differs i try to find water with under 300, and guess what..its cheaper.0

bottled when i go somewhere from the fridge filter at home. the tap water tastes funny here if not filtered0
-
I drink A LOT of bottled water. Poland Springs is my fave here in NY. Our tap water is pretty good, I just feel like it can have a chemical or chlorine smell sometimes. I have a Brita as well that I use when out of bottled water!0
-
At home, I drink tap. Most places I go, I'll try the tap. I only drink bottled water if tap isn't an option (camping in the woods, etc.) or if the tap just tastes nasty:sick: , like it does in some places. But usually I'm an all-tap girl.:drinker:0
-
Bottled. All the way. Tap water tastes nasty in Arizona. The water that comes out of our fountains at school isn't even clear, so I don't trust it.0
-
Tap water all the way for me!!! I sometimes feel bottled water makes me more thirsty...sure that can't be right but that's how it seems.0
-
I drink tap water at home and try to remember to fill up my reusable water bottle with ice water before I go out but I don't always remember. If I get thirsty when I'm out I'll get a bottle of water to avoid the temptation to get a soda or something through a drive through!0

I'm in the UK, and where I live the tap water is great. If I were to ever buy a bottle of water, I'd by own brand spring water and not overpriced brands0
-
I drink bottled water and use store bought ice at work. The building is old and the water is sort of brownish. If I could remember, I would just bring the stuff from home.0
-
I drink tap water, but I've also never had my tap water coming from a well. Everyone I know who has well water uses a water cooler with the 5 gallon refillable jugs for drinking.
I've lived in apartments where the water quality was questionable...either tasted or looked funny, so for those I had a Brita (or Pur?) pitcher to keep in my fridge.
I don't do bottled water anymore because of the price as well as the environmental impact (on top of the plastic, bottled water is heavy to ship from place to place).0 -
It depends on the bottle and the tap. Some bottled water contains more (a lot more) contaminents than your typical tap water. But tap water varies greatly depending on the city/source. Where I live the tap water is very good. Safer probably than 90% of bottled water. But in a smaller town where a co-worker lives they actually advise people not to drink straight from the tap.
So if you live in my town, you are probably better off with tap. If you live in hers, reach for the bottle.0 -
For your standard 20oz plastic, recyclable / disposable bottle it takes 1 cup of crude oil to make it.
You want your water in a bottle for the convenience of transport, get a reusable bottle. Nalgene hard plastic (now without bPA) or any stainless water bottle will last nearly forever and you only need to buy one!0 -
In between bottled and straight tap water there's also filtered tap water. This might give you something closer to the 'bottled water' taste with a lot less waste.
Definitely invest in a reusable bottle like dvisser1 mentioned. I like stainless steel because I feel like it keeps water a tad cooler and it's more durable.
Containers that bottled water comes in are NOT meant to be reused and therefore could contain BPA among other things that will start to leach out over multiple uses. Yes, reusing them cuts out waste, but doing so could be at the expense of safety.0 -
I normally drink tap water. I have re-useable metal bottles that I just fill up.
I only drink bottled water if I'm out and forgot my water or have drank it all. Bottled water is a waste of money for me. Most are just bottled from a cities tap water. Aquafina (I believe) says on it (Bottled from Municiple sources in Peel Region - a city just outside of Toronto). Nestle water is water from the Guelph area in Ontario.0 -
I drink tap water. Cheaper and environmentally friendly. Buy yourself a reusable bottle and save some oil and money: http://www.amazon.com/Nalgene-Tritan-Mouth-Water-Bottle/dp/B002PLU912/ref=sr_1_2?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1338575171&sr=1-20

Tap water!!!
Reasons why:
1. Regulations on tap water are more stringent
2. Most tap water is fluoridated and can help protect your teeth
3. Millions of plastic bottles will not be headed to the landfill because of you
4. It's free (well, I'm generalizing, I realize most homeowners pay a water bill of some kind)
Cheap, safe, enviro friendly. What more could you ask for?0
