I am so freakin discouraged right now I just want to give up. I have been trying and trying to loose these last 10 lbs but I can't. For the past 3 weeks the scale has stayed the exact same, to the very ounce. TO THE OUNCE. How does that even happen?? I've increased my workouts, I've switched things up, I've push harder each day. I upped my calories last week and still nothing. Infact, even after all this my freakin body fat has gone up .4% from last week..

Can someone please take a look at my diary and perhaps offer me some advice?

I am 5'6, 134.8 lbs and 18% body fat. I am pretty sedentary other than my workouts. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you are in a healthy weight range. Why fight it?

I'm shooting for 125 and I'm only 5'1". It's within my normal range and I feel good there. I don't understand why you're pushing for that last 10 pounds when you're at a great weight? You look muscular, and not really fatty at all. 10 more pounds seems like it would put you too far down, and you'd begin to look sickly. My thought on it anyways.

At 18% body fat, do you really HAVE 10 pounds to lose? You have a fan-freaking-tastic body.

Forget the scale. Go by photos, measurements and how clothes fit.

If anything, I think you might benefit from eating more (aim for no more than a half pound a week, which would probably put you around 1500 plus exercise calories) and adding heavy strength training. Don't expect to see changes in a week or two.

I have a good amount of droopy fat over my calves and inner thighs as well as in my saddlebag area. And love handles. And over my triceps and lower stomach. I want some of that gone and am not quite where I want to be. It just doesn't watch to go away.

I can't say I've been exactly where you are but, speaking from personal plateau experience it might be worth it to up your calories closer to your bmr. It sounds scary but it might help. Also maybe it's time to tone and stop trying to lose...but to build muscle you'll need to eat more.

you just increased your calories last week? it will take at least 3 weeks at a new calorie level before you will see results.. but as i see, you've only increased it to 1300, which is still fairly low. you should really check to see what your BMR is to make sure you are getting more calories than that per day (i know you are eating exercise calories back - which is good - but you should probably be netting at least 1350, imo). also, are you doing strength training?

I do strength training..... 1500 sounds so much, and scary.... Maybe I do need to up them more though...

What kind of workouts do you do?

1500 isn't too much, more than likely. I've been doing 1800 and my weight is falling of. However at 18% body fat your body may not want to let go of what you do have. And you look great.

Judging by what you wrote 18% body fat and your pictures, it dosent seem like you have any more weight to loose unless you you are wanting to be all bones, j/k you look good, and maybe its your bodys way of telling you that you are at your perfect weight, just my opinion :)
  • From your pictures you probably have ten extra lbs of muscle, which you would definitely Not want to lose, since muscle burns more fat. When you work out as hard as you say you do, building muscle is a good side effect. You look awesome already, and scales are not a good thing to depend on. Your measurement from before and after tell much more. You look great! Don't stress so much.! Lots of people would give a lot just to look like you do!

From your diary I would cut back on the carbs in the bread products and avoid artificial sweetener. Maybe do a cleanse for two weeks and then slowly introduce back the carbs. I have a diet that someone sent me to get my sugar levels back in check if you want me to send it to you? It maybe enough to get those last 10 pounds gone.

This sounds silly, but try holding something heavy when you step on your scale. Step back on without the heavy thing and see if that makes a change. My scale gets "stuck" when the weights are not drastically different enough. It drives me crazy. My old one did that so I bought a new one and this one does it too so I just gave up on wasting the money and make sure I weigh at the end of the day fully clothed and shoe-ed so the next morning I can get my real weight.

Strength train. Life some heavy weights and stop worrying about the number on the scale. You will see big changes in your body composition.

I couldn't find your food diary but if you eat starchy carbs maybe cut them out.

thanks for the advice. I'll try changing the ratio on my macros so its less carbs and find out what fat2fit says my BMR is and adjust my calories. And give myself more than a week before i start freakin.

You look fantastic in your pictures. But you are the only one who knows how you feel. Losing the last 5-10 lbs can be very difficult. Just continue with weight training to help firm and tone up.
