Interval Timer?

Does anyone here have one, and if so, do you like it? Does it help you keep on track or push yourself through your exercise routine? I'm debating getting one of these or buying a couple more workout DVDs....I know tons of exercises but I'd like SOMETHING there for that extra push, weather its a device beeping at me, or an instructor telling me to go, go, go! Anyone? And no, I will not use a phone app timer - not gonna sweat all over my expensive smart phone.

well....if you just REFUSE to use your phone, then Gymboss is pretty much the market leader for interval timers. I've heard nothing but good things about them.

I myself use my phone and have for years. I understand your worry about sweat. I'm dripping buckets when I'm done. But I wear my phone on my upper arm in a workout case with arm band and it's never, ever been a problem. Stays clean and dry. Besides for the basic HIIT app that I use for my android phone there are apps that will guide you thru specific routines like spartacus workouts. Nike even put one out that has different famous athletes and coaches yelling "LET"S GO--KEEP IT UP" at you.

So get the gymboss. Or use the phone. It will be fine.

I have a laptop that I can set up in the room if I am doing home interval training and I can use this website - http://www.beach-fitness.com/tabata/

If you have a iPod gymboss do an app which I've found pretty good in the past, as for using it for motivation nothing beats a 1 on 1 session with a good personal trainer I use one for strength training in the winter and I have never been so strong. Find a good one and they know when to step in be it to shout motivation, assist you with the lift or just knowing when it's time to move on to the next thing. If its the personal trainer route you go down make sure you do your research and find a good one that has experience training people with similar goals to yourself.

Sportline.com also has some great timers. I have used the Alpha Sport for years and been very happy with it.
