females age 40-45 what is your body fat %?

I am female, 5'8" tall, age 45 and I weigh 156.4. My body fat % 26.9. Is that normal? If you have similar stats, what is your body fat%?

I am very active. I walk 3 times a week (about 50 min. each time). Do yoga twice a week (more stretching, not terribly challenging). Jazzercise about 5 times a week (burning an average of 350-500 cal. each time). During the toning section of Jazzercise I use 9 lb hand weights and find this very challenging. I've noticed that I am much stronger than a year ago.

Thanks for sharing!!

I'm 42 (today!), 5'9", 138 lbs. From what I can tell..... calipers, calculators, and that handheld BIA thing all have me at 19.5-20.5% right now.

I am 40 and 5 ft 7 . I weigh 182 ( well 180 but it's not official til next week lol) and my body fat is 29.2% which is considered low for what I weigh. I have been working out ( even ay my highest weight of 227) steady for 22 years . My goal is 20% body fat.

I'm not in your age range but I have very similar stats as you. I thought you'd like to know: I'm 28, 5'8", 155.4lbs and 29.5% body fat. I only use my scale for BF % but I think it's about right. Good for you on having much more lean mass than I do!

    I'm 42 (today!)

    Happy Birthday!

I'll be 40 in one week. I'm 5'5 about 135 lbs and I would guess between 20-22%bf. I haven't had it tested because how I feel is more important than a number.

I know this thread is a little old but I searched "body fat" and found it. Maybe more people could respond.

    I am 49, 5'8" and 140 lbs. My body fat is 28%.

I am 44, 5'9" tall and my BMI is currently at 26.5.
I try to do something every day, whether it be Bob (the treadmill) at the gym or my Taekwondo class in the evenings. If I can't do either of those, I play badminton, clean my moms or walk with my daughter. Again, I try to do SOMETHING every day.

I workout regularly, including strength training

    Estimated body fat:
29.0% according to the YMCA formula
32.5% according to my bathroom scale
36.8 according to the army formula
37.5% according to the navy formula
37.6% according to the USMC formula (damn bingo wings!)

I've lost 55 lbs over 2 years. I've also keep track of my bf metric over time:
When I was 217 lbs, I was too scared to check
When I was 200 lbs, my bf was somewhere between 37% (scale) and 47% (military formula)
When I was 185 lbs, my bf was somewhere between 36% (scale) and 45% (military formula)
When I was 170 lbs, my bf was somewhere between 34% (scale) and 41% (military formula)
Now at 162 lbs, my bf is somewhere between 33% (scale) and 37% (military formula)

The scale would suggest my lean body mass has gone down from 126 to 108. The military formula would suggest that my LBM has gone down from 106 to 102. I was pretty sedentary a couple years ago before I started and have been doing strength work. I have also lost the weight rather slowly so, as much as I hate the higher number, I'm inclined to believe the military formula over my scale.

    the calculators are here:
    http://www.healthstatus.com/calculators.html

When I look at the images in this thread, I do look closest to the 35% picture so I think that's right. I'd like to be in the upper 20s.
