I'm sorry (not really), but I can never read this in a forum post without thinking, "**** head."

Eh.. I had to have it explained when I started seeing it pop up a few years ago... and I've been an internet junkie for a good decade or better.

    Its better than *kitten* hat.

On the reverse its SWMBO. She Who Must Be Obeyed.
ie. I want to put a power rack in the living room and throw out that stupid end table. I better run it by SWMBO.

Thanks for this thread! I had no idea what it meant either, I kept wondering why women were referring to their husbands as ****heads in positive posts.

I never use it, cause my hubby & I only call eachother "dear" when we're annoyed with the other person

This. Here in the mountains, Dear husband/wife is a negative thing... When some one says "You'll never guess what my dear huband (or wife) did" It's usually followed by a story of unimaginable stupidity or poor decision making.

I think ****head is a much more acceptable meaning of DH than dear husband, although I am curious what you read for OH rather than Other Half.

I'm not a fan of the designated hitter personally. Baseball is a two way sport, if you can't field, then feel free to pinch hit once a night.

I love this term. I try to work it into my vocabulary daily. I do believe this is a much better term than DH, which I also read as ****head.

    DH dear husband
    DW dear wife
    DS dear son
    DD dear daughter

And then people with multiple kids start DS1 or DS2 or DD3 that kind of thing.. it can get confusing.
