Favorite Netflix movies (Instant)

I'm going to go with some non-traditional/mainstream stuff. Recently I've become hooked to art-house movies available on Netflix and have gotten friends/family addicted to them as well. In particular, there are several Iranian movies on Netflix that are so utterly beautiful. The plots are simple, but show everyday human struggles. Almost all of the actors are just people off the street, they have no formal training, but their performances are so sincere and genuine. It's hard not to be overwhelmed with emotion while watching a few of these films.
1. Children of Heaven
2. The Color of Paradise
3. Baran
Start with those and I think you will get addicted to these films too...0 -
So far I have mainly caught up with TV series on Netflix but I do love the classics like Roman Holiday& Breakfast at Tiffany's.
You should check out 'It happened on Fifth Avenue' if you love the classics. I am a classics nut!!! Another phenomenal classic is 'Night of the Hunter'...creepy but awesome!!!0 -
Some lesser known, but good ones:
Tortilla Soup
Whale Rider
Turtle - The Incredible Journey
Ten Inch Hero (sort of a coming of age quirky little story)
...and
Top Gun
The Piano
I mostly watch documentaries. There are lots of really good ones.0 -
Battlestar Galactica (2004)

Emma. I've seen it 1,000 times and will watch it 1,000 more. And Demolition Man is a top contender. Also saw that movie a gajillion times. Snatch was recently added and I totally dig it. Office Space is a great side splitter. Lastly, The Secret Of Kells. Cute animation hubby and I watch alot.
A few on there I own that I love like Mothman Proph, the Labyrinth and Dark Crystal.
Most of ours is cartoons series, documentaries, sci-fi related stuff, action flicks, thrillers, kung foo movies, etc. Lots of cartoons/animation. (no kids, just we really love cartoons)0 -
