Good Morning Everyone. Sorry I haven';t been checking in as often as I use to. I have been quite busy lately. Work at this time of year is almost over welming. Lots of leaves and fall clean up everywhere. In a month or so I'll be at home with too much time on my hands.
Anyway this week so far I have done pretty good keeping on track.
Well have to run

Hey Sixers!
T - thanks for your comments, they help more than you know!!
Cathy - you are right, this next challenge is going to rock!! Good for you for waiting for dinner!!!
Today was good, just busy as always. Rainy here but snowing where my parents live so I won't complain!! My dad is supposed to come to town tomorrow for my university's homecoming game on saturday, but we'll see if the weather allows it!!
Hope you all have a good night! I just finished up some soup from Panera...yum!0 -
ohhh, jennifer contrats on the wedding this weekend. you better post some pics when you can. i guess the honeymoon will be during the next challenge? where are you going for honeymoon.
keep us posted.....
tamm....i got the beck book from the libary, but, it's the second one. do you think they are close to the same? they don't carry the first one. someone has it on amazon for like 2bucks so might just order. put it with my collection of diet books. also picked up one on the sale shelve for the libary it's called "the reality diet" never heard of it. i always get something from all the different diet books.
night all0 -
Cathy- I believe the one I have is the first one... I don't know for sure. I love reading diet books as well. I learn something meaningful from each one. I agree. Also, congrats on your posting and meals today. That's the Cathy I KNOW. YAY!!!
Lauryn- I agree with going with some of our old habits. Recipes were fun and meal planning the night before or the morning of was helpful and it allowed me to see how possible it truly was. YAY.. I'm too excited! I feel like we are all going to do well
T- I'm glad you are doing well. Glad I can help out! Keep up the good work
Amylou- Do you have a planned massage or something for all this studying and busy work you are always doing?
I remember we joined the group at the same time. Glad you are still around!
Kel- Good job. BEST to you!!!!
Well to all my other sixers- I love you all and I'm thinking about you always and I'm so excited for our results before the end of this year. WE are all going to succeed in our own ways!!!!! Look at how far we have come!
Thanks for the friendship!!!

how did everyones day go?
mine was ok, i battled the afternoon snack monster again today. and i WON.
ending the day with a nice shower and some jammies and bed soon. weather has been getting warm again. i miss the cooler weather. oh well it will come.
off to ready for bed......
later0 -
Today was a very lazy day for me. I have worked everyday for the last three weeks. It felt so good to sit in my jammies and watch tv till noon. Then it was off to the store. I bought the stuff for a wonderful dinner tonight. I bought some raw oysters for the half shell and shrimp to deep fry and scallops to sautee with rice. and asparagus for the veggie. We plan on eating a little here and a little there. I probably won't eat any rice. I am only making it for Tony. I haven't eaten any lunch today so I could enjoy the seafood medley. As far as the fried shrimp I will only have two. But when it comes to the scallops I will cook them in a scampi manner. YUM!!! I am so looking forward to eating.: :drinker: :drinker:
Everyone please have a great weekend!!!! :flowerforyou: For me it's back to work tomarrow and everyday till next weekend:noway:

Kel-That food sounds splendid and I know you definitely deserve your REST. Glad you enjoyed your day!!
Cathy- Good job on avoiding the SNACK DEMON...lol. I seem to get a big snacking problem in the winter.... bored and cold and ready to what??? EAT!!! And you are going to bed EARLY. LOL, you know I wouldn't be able to fall asleep then if someone paid me to! Enjoy your rest!
Lauryn- Hope your day was great!
Jennifer- I hope the wedding was wonderful! Congrats and can't wait to hear from you!!!
Well...... I was laughing today at how I was purchasing gifts for a friends bridal shower and I thought??? AM I EVER GONNA GET MARRIED! LOL, this is the first time I thought about that in a while. It must be because next year I'll be 29 and ummm thats near 30. I just wonder sometimes when I will start having what others call a normal life! However, I do find myself enjoying my freedom too much. I just get up and go whenever and wherever. Or maybe I just want some new cool gadgets for my kitchen! LOL.
I hope everyone had a nice friday and you have a great weekend. I'm working tomorrow and then off to the shower. Then rest sunday after my 5mile nature trail!
take care ladies,
Tamm

Oh yeah.... does anyone want to see how many newbies we get next week and assign one to a veteran member. Just so we can keep up with them and encourage them on their first 6 week challenge with us?
Just an idea..what do you ladies think?0 -
great idea tamm.....
no i am not going to bed, just ready to hit the bed.
evening snack time now. haven't decided what i am having.
have a good day at work tomorrow.
night0 -
Tamm - yes I think we did join at the same time!! Over a year ago now, I can hardly believe it!! And I am definitely considering a massage for after finals. Once I finish applications for administrative fellowships (kind of like a residency after med school only after a health administration program) I will probably give myself a treat of some sort too! that's what has been stressing me the most! I did find out today that i made it to the on-site interview round of one of the hospitals I was really hoping for so that is coming up in a little over a week!!
I also think the veteran/newbie pairing idea is a great one!
Didn't eat well today, my dad came to town for the weekend and we had Macaroni Grill (his favorite) for dinner. it was super yummy but a lot of carbs and cream. AND my dad's gf sent a yummy strawberry cake with him that she knows I love. so good, yet so bad. haha.
anyway, just hanging with my dad then going to be here soon. Homecoming tailgate and game tomorrow!! woohoo!0 -
oh and CONGRATULATIONS Jennifer!! Can't wait to hear about the big day this weekend!!0

Glad everyone is doing well.
Amy lou- Good luck and I'm sure you will do great on your finals.
Cathy- Cookies will probably be the death of me. I love it!!!! Enjoy your the last of your weekend and thanks for the recipe!
Well... I had applebees last night. I didn't eat much of the food. I just don't enjoy JUNK food too much anymore. I actually have had an upset stomach ever since. BOO. BAD news. At least when I feel better I won't be trying to eat out again for a while.
Take care,
TAMM0 -
Hey ladies... I was looking at the new thread and we have lots of newbies..... So hopefully we can pair up with a few or what do you ladies suggest! I would love to keep the support up for our new members. Okay I'm off to bed .... finally!!!

I love that idea. I think that is awesome.0 -
lauryn....put down the cookies, the cheese puffs and what ever else is around your kitchen that you know you only get in moderation. what is bothering you dear?
I don't think it was a negative emotion. I try not to keep bad food in the house anymore or I will cave and eat it. I think I was just letting myself go. I only ended up eating 5 cookies (which is a lot of calories but not an entire bag by any means) and I hate probably 2 or 3 servings of cheese puffs at another time.
I don't think it was emotional eating. I think I just wanted it and allowed myself to have it. I was seriously vegging out in front of the tv and relaxing, something I've never done much of before. It was interesting, and as long as it's only a once in a blue moon thing, I'm okay with it.
I am still stressed about the whole separation and dealing with shutting down my love for my ex. It's crummy but I'm working through it. I don't think that was related to my crappy eating though.
Thanks for asking, Cathy. :flowerforyou:0 -

Like a Big Sister in a sorority!!! I think that is a great idea toooooo!!!!!!!!! WTG Tamm!!!!
I think we should look at matching based on weight left to lose and age too. Different ages mean losing weight at different weights (I'm thinking menopause here.... slows your metabolism and weight loss, from what I know) , but you also want someone with similar goals.
Some of the vets may end up with a couple newbies. :bigsmile:0 -

That is great. I love when my body tells me it WANTS healthier food. Makes the course so much easier to stay on!!!0 -
BTW, I need more water. I haven't been drinking enough water for 2 or 3 weeks. NOT GOOD. :indifferent:0
