The Double Belly...UGH

I find myself so frustrated by looking at these pictures of women with a single belly, that is they have one large belly rather than it being split at the belly button like mine. It is like I have two bellies, one above and one below. The one above is much smaller but I really hate it. I can never imagine being able to wear a two piece or anything like that. Does anyone else have this body type? Please help, I need to know what I can do that might help smooth it into one.

I have that also..but I just do and ive never been pregnant or anything
I noticed if I stay below 30 grams of sugar and eat alot of protein and workout it's been slowly going away and my stomachs getting flatter and flatter. it takes a really long time though :sad:0 -
I think I must have one belly for each baby. I know people swear by planks but to be honest its probably an overall weight loss that is needed and you will see it come back. I'm noticing a difference already.0

OMG! I thought I was the only one!! I'm so glad to find someone else with the same type of problem. But mine is just from being overweight. No babies here.0

even i have two stomach.... somebody please tell what to do..0
-
I do. I use to make my husband laugh telling him I look like I have three sets of boobs.
The only thing you can do is keep on keepin' on and get rid of the fat. Build up some muscle underneath and hopefully it'll go away.0 -
I have the same thing! The top one is going away SLOWLY - the bottom one - not so much!! Frustrating I know!!0
-
I have that but also I have lots and lots of extra skin hanging off my belly.
I'm 4' 9" tall so when pregnant the baby has no where to go but straight out so I was stretched way to far..0 -
Words spoken from my own brain. I have the two belly effect and it's a suckfest.
I've lost about 50-60 pounds at this point and I will say that both areas have significantly shrunk. With that being said, I wasn't educated about weight training through the process and now my bottom belly is smaller, but saggy from the weight loss; while the top belly is almost fully gone.
I suggest a change in diet, obviously, and encourage you to add ab work and strength training into your workout regime. I wish I would've figured that out sooner than now...... Oh well, I'm working on it now :] It's never too late!!
Good luck, from one two belly to another!!0 -
I have the same problem! Althought, my top one is bigger than bottom one. I too need some advice on getting rid of it.0

I have it! I had one HUGE belly then it shrank into 'two'. I do remember though that when I was smaller, I started with the 'lower' belly then the upper belly grew, separating the two. Now the top one is shrinking (hopefully gone for good someday!) and I pray the lower one will go next. I still have 20-25lbs to lose (cw 145) and I know that the 'top' belly started to grow at 130lbs so I hope its gone by the time I reach that goal.
Keep measuring, doing cardio and it ( I mean THEY), will go away. Good luck and keep working at it!0 -
I have this and I HATE it!!!!! Hoping it gets better with weight loss0

I also have 2.. kinda split right at the belly button.. nothing u can really do except get a tummy tuck ( which i would LOVE to have) I usually wear something under my shirt to help smooth it ( like a body shaper) out and hold the loose skin in.0

My understanding it that it is a structural thing kind of like body type (i.e. apple, pear, etc). It hassomething to do with how your muscles are alligned underneath. I just feel like having a totally flat stomach is impossible but it is the only way I think I will ever have a normal looking tummy. I have had the double tummy my entire life. BOO I am so glad I am not alone!0

I have it. When it was at my heaviest I thought it looked like billy the big mouth bass...kind of. Hate it with a passion! It shrinks slowly and still looks awful, but lumpier now. =(0

I have two bellies as well...they are getting smaller as I lose fat and inches...working on the loose skin, and I don't have kids...it's just from being really overweight. There is hope...lots of improvement as the weight comes off!

I've always had that too! I'm just hoping that they'll eventually both be flat. It seems like most people do have the single belly. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. I guess it just means we're special. lol0

me too, sick of seeing pics of normal bellys on here lol. can't wait to have a belly button again instead of a belly line - try leaning really far back (breathing in of course) - if i could hold that pose i'd look great in my bikini0

I was just thinking the same thing! Even when I was smaller I still had a small "pouch" under my belly button but since having a baby it is a lot worse. It's very frustration but hopefully it will disappear as I lose weight!0

I have an hourglass shape. I have a very large chest, my waist is dramatically smaller and then hips slightly larger then mychest/shoulder width. I'm not positive it's a structural thing any more than just the way that your body is choosing to carry it's weight. My stomach has been like this since I started gaining weight as a teen; it's not something that just happened one day.
A tummy tuck would be awesome, but I'd rather see how far I can get on my own. As well, just because leaner foods, more veggies and tummy exercises is seemingly working for me, does not mean that I think it will work for everyone.0 -
Now down to 2 bellies from one big one & all the skin is very wrinkly but I don't care!! It's not full of fat anymore - about a 1/3 full & working on it!!0
-
I have 2 bellies that are the same size, Im scared thta thet just wont go away..0
-
I totally get it. My top one used to be non-existant until I put back on 15 lbs and now it is there again. I am working on getting these 15 lbs back off - just taking time. Just don't give up!!! I know it is frustration, but you can do it.0

Hehe, I posted about this not too long ago and was SO HAPPY that I wasn't the only one! I kept seeing all these before/after pictures of women with beautiful round bellies that flattened out all nice and smooth! Then I looked down at my two bellies and they frowned up at me
People said they do go away though, or become less noticeable! I am counting the days. Maybe today I'll go take a before pic of my bellies so that when I reach my goal I can post it, just to help reassure other double-bellied folks out there (Although I think it will make non-sufferers barf, hehe).0 -
Hi!!
Yes, I have this...
I had this before I had childred and I have it now. It is just the way you (and me and a lot of other women too) are built. My Dr says that it is genetic but with low body fat and core muscle strength the appearance will be minimized dramatically!! That's good news to me!!
:bigsmile:0 -
I have the double belly, yep it sucks and no it's not likely to go away without a tummy tuck, It has gone down a fair bit but it's never gonna be flat. :grumble:0

I chase my God-daughters with mine and chant, "BELLY MONSTER" at them. They squeal and run. I am having a harder time doing 'Belly Monster' lately though. It is still there, it's mouth just isn't as big as it was. I haven't been exercising, just losing weight and eating more fiber and whole grains. I read that is good to help with the bellies. If I sit on the edge of the bed in the nude and look in the mirror, it looks like a frog. Frog and Belly Monster will go bye bye. Not sure when but I won't stop til they're GONE.0
-
Same here! Except my bottom belly is sliced in half top to bottom from a c-section so I have laugh when I say I have two bellies and two butts.
What can you do? Not sure, but learn to accept it and try to improve it. Life ain't always beautiful, but its a beautiful ride.0 -
hello All!:flowerforyou:
IDK if this will totally help but here are some of the things I let my members at the gym know. The belly is the last place anyone will ecer see change (don't slump in dispair), someone mentioned strength training, YES! building muscle will creat a day long burn rather than your average 1 to 1 1/2 hour burn straight after cardio. Also you have to really hit thye ab excercises hard, giving yourself a 24-48 hour rest in between strength training so that muscle heals (thus builds) rather than just going into shock and not build at all.
my favorite ab exercises....
core ball sit ups for central mass of abs as well as the upper
core ball elbow cross for obliques
hanging leg raises (hang by hands and lift legs by bending at knee) for the ever persistant lower abs (ladies we all know that one)
and side bends with the roman chair ( love the way this tones and tightens the side muscles)
Hope that helps and don't forget to calculate this into the daily diary under exercise!0
