Since my wife decided to tell me as I just walked in the door from work she doesn't feel like cooking dinner, any suggestions for 97% lean ground beef. Don't really feel like spaghetti tonight, but I am tired and that is all that is coming to mind. Please help. I have about 780 calories until I hit my goal today so throw anything at me.

If you have any jumbo shells around, cook them and then brown the ground beef, add taco seasoning and 4 oz of cream cheese. Fill the shells with the meat mixture, dump some salsa in a baking dish and arrange the shells in there. Pour taco sauce over everything, cover, and bake for half an hour or so until it's all cooked through. Then top with shredded cheese and bake some more to melt it. Nommy.

Or make tacos. Or burgers. Or cheeseburger macaroni.

Lazy lasagne... brown the beef, cook macaroni. Add a jar of pasta sauce to beef, drain and add cooked macaroni. Stir with cheese of your choice - mozza or parma... or both.

Homemade hamburger helper. You have the ground beef.....add noodles, 1 cup milk, about 2 cups water and seasonings of your choice....you can add cheese, tomatoes, veggies. I have made this and its very good and no junk in it.

i chop up some onion, mushroom and brown the ground beef altogether, then measure out 1oz (30g) of cheddar per person and melt it on top before serving! stir it up and it tastes like a cheeseburger without the bun!

I brown the hamburg and add all kinds of frozen veggies. Corn, beens, broccoli, onions and pepper. I throw in some taco seasoning and serve it over steamed rice. My kids love it and it goes great on top of a salad the next day.

I call it stuffed pepper mix, because that was how it started, then I evolved and added the corn and broccoli. You can even add stewed tomatoes.

Tacos (you can make a taco salad!); sloppy joes; or just add a little sour cream, seasoning and serve over noodles (stroganoff); add steamed rice and make some meatballs

I am actually making this myself tonight:

    1/4 cup chopped onion
1 lg clove garlic (pressed or minced)
1 lb 96% lean ground beef
    1 tbsp flour
1 cup water with beef bullion cube dissolved in it
    Garlic Salt
    Parsley
    Salt
    Pepper
Low Sodium/Calorie Cream of Celery Soup
12 oz bag frozen mixed veggies (corn, carrots, green beans, etc)

    Directions

Brown ground beef, onion and garlic
Sprinkle flour evenly over mixture in pan and stir well
Add water with the beef bullion cube
Add garlic salt, parsley, cream of celery soup and frozen vegetables.
Cook until desire tenderness (I'm going to let the veggies thaw so it gets done faster)

    Makes 4 cups

    271 calories per serving

(You can substitute any of spices - thinking about adding chili powder)

    Good Luck!
