I do not like the w/f pb..or marshmellow dip...but the caramel sauce is fantastic, especially to make macchiato's. The bbq sauce and honey mustard are also pretty good, along with the rasberry and strawberry jelly. Jmo....0

Am I the only one finds it ironic that people are bashing this no calorie peanut butter, yet so many people on this site drink diet soda and even count it as water?
Has anyone here tried making homemade flavored water? I am not much of a soda-drinker, but HATE plain ole water. I recently started putting fruit or vegetables in a pitcher, filling it with water, and letting it sit overnight. Here is the website where I found the recipe: http://www.theyummylife.com/Flavored_Water
But I only put about 1/4 cup frozen blueberries in the pitcher, and it makes the water tasty enough and doesn't need additional sweetener.0 -

Sounds great! Thanks for the info!0 -
you should have mentioned they also have chocolate The Fred Meyer here in our city has a few of their products. They are a little spendy though. I've tried a couple of their dressings, Okay, but not something I would purchase.0

I can appreciate a post like this. I'm struggling to quit my soda habit and in the last few months I've reached for a diet soda in place of the "real" thing because I didn't want to consume the calories but my craving was too strong to resort to water.
I'm a work in progress, just as many other people on this site are. EVENTUALLY we will reach a point where the foods we consume will all be the healthy ones. However, until we reach that point, we are looking for ways to resist what has come naturally to us for the last several years and sometimes, what we reach for just might be 0 calorie peanut butter0 -
0 calories and fills appetite?
Water.0 -
Oh yeah.. forgot about the dressings. I really like the thousand island!0

I admit it, I am a junk food junkie! I know what the results are from this diet, obesity ... Plain and simple, I'm living proof! We all share things in common if you are reading this post, 1. we have extra weight to lose and 2. we have taken the first step to cure this, right? That being said, I have a little help that I wish I would have had a month ago when I first started this healthy eating. Ready? Here it is, when you search for your food on MFP, type in "Walden Farms". They have a huge amount of products with 0 calories! Even "peanut spread", not bad, especially when peanut butter is 190 cal. for 2 tablespoons, right? They have dressings, chocolate , strawberry, maple syrup.., slaw sauce, all kinds of stuff! I found some stuff at Walmart.. Do the search on MFP then go find it in the grocery store, save some calories! Hope this helps!0

OK, don't eat the peanut spread, OMG! Eat a 1/4 Tbs of Jiffy on your sandwich if you want only 48 calories! I don't care! There are over 4,000 chemicals in a cigarette, anyone who was hating on me smoke? I never said base your diet on 0 calorie alternatives or substitute it for "real food". Sorry for trying to help out. (feel free to view my "food diary") You can see I do eat "real food". We are all human and have weaknesses, most of us on here have weight issues and maybe food is one of our weaknesses....You think ? So, I thought the midnight snack that turns into 200 calories (celery and peanut butter) could be rectified by dipping in the "peanut spread" with lets say 1 calorie plus the celery stalk..... But, remember if you don't want to use the 0 calorie "peanut spread" by all means don't! I am not a nutritionist, or a doctor. I'm just a fat guy trying to lose weight! Thanks for all the "love"!
Oh, and here is the link to find the ingredients on the Walden Farms Peanut Spread: http://www.waldenfarms.com/nutrition_facts.html#
It's not a bunch of "chemicals", check it out!
If you really need to fulfill a desire to eat "out of the approved foods" for your diet, then work for it. If I ever wanted an extra snack or something, I went and walked the calories for it, or ran. I earned it by working harder. Win, win. Now, I just eat peanut butter, don't starve myself(actually, almond butter more now) and have no issues w/ my calories.
Oh and... My girlfriend is 5'1" and 115 lbs, she eats more than you. Me thinks you're making eating better harder on yourself.0 -

My oldest son is 5'10" and weighs 163lbs and eats 6,000 calories a day...but, what does that have to do with me??? (girlfriend reference) I'm 43 yrs old and have 3 vertebrae in my back that need fused or disc's replaced. I served my country for 4 years in the Army (Desert Storm Veteran) I know how to exercise (thanks for that instruction), it's a very painful for me to even walk to the bathroom, much less jog for my peanut butter fix! I know how to eat healthy (I'm 5'10" and didn't hit 200lbs until I was 28), I just chose not too.
as to help someone who maybe could benefit from the alternative, not base their diet on only these substitutes. Sorry for thinking that my original post might help someone. Geesh! :huh:0 -
I guess recommending non food products that have 0 calories isn't an awful suggestion, since the majority of the people who are in that situation are eating stuff that is calorie heavy barely passable food products.
I'd also debate as to how much this is "helping" anyone. The great majority of people who would use this product are going to be people that are likely on unhealthy low calorie diets and don't understand what they are eating hardly at all. I just take issue with products that promote quick fix/cheat tactics to people who are usually unhealthy and need to learn a long term life long sustainable intake plan.0 -
0 calories ? working a labelling loophole or chemical crap. Not a food.
Exactly this!0 -

Plenty of people "bash" that too.0 -

Thank you for your replies, now we can all take your opinions into consideration. :bigsmile:0 -
Honestly, some of you guys are getting a little crazy on here calling Walden Farms products a bunch of chemicals. Look up the nutrition facts. If you use these products in moderation (as they are intended) I don't really see the big deal. They are mostly water, flavoring, thickening agents, and then the very last ingredient is splenda. If you are against using sucralose as a sweetener, then just don't use the product. And also, most normal people aren't out there using Walden Farms as a food replacement, they are simply using it as a condiment replacement. So, if you want a little peanut butter flavoring on your toast or banana or whatever... I say go for it. Just don't sit down and eat the whole tub and call it dinner! :-D0

I am sorry walden farms is gross...0
-
I bought the peanut butter awhile ago and it tastes like gasoline. I am not joking. I threw it away after taking one bite. HORRIBLE lol.0
-
pickles!
Bless pickles!!! They are my saving grace at times!0 -
It don't taste at all the same - Gross0
-
I have all kinds of Walden Farms products, a lot of it tastes great and I'm not ignorant enough to cry about chemical this and chemical that when it's no where near as harmful as the toxic junk of McDonald's or the cigarettes that some of you probably smoke...0
-
I do like the chocolate syrup. I use some of that on an ice cream desert I like to have.0
-
I called Walden Farms and they are more than happy to answer any questions you have. The dressings are mainly water. I actually like the ranch. It's a great help, and I use them in moderation.0
-
Thanks for the info! You know the thought of giving up peanut butter makes me sweat :noway: I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon.0
-
Thanks for the info I would wanna see what the chocolate takes like since that is my weekness0
-
That's cool! But definitely can't be good for u! If anything things like that make u crave food even worse, so in the end ur not doing urself a favor! Sad but true0
-
I think it would be really bad for you because of all the chemicals used your body wouldn't know what it was or what to do wit it so you'd just end up storing it as fat anyway0
-
OK, I give....Eat peanut butter to you bust! Do not eat Walden Farms "peanut spread" it's poison!
Sorry for the original post... I ate it for breakfast and now " I'm dead" !
Lol....I had the chocolate topping and "i'm dead" too!0 -
I agree with this, chemical crap, not good for your body at all, your body won't know what to do with it so you'll end up storing fat anyway =/
This! U store fat even worse when it come to eating low fat no fat foods! Eat healthy, eat what God created for us to eat, it's pretty simple once u get the hang of it. If its not natural, or has been tampered with, run!0 -
In my experience low fat, low calorie ect usually just mean 'full of artificial crap' or the serving size is micrograms and if you make any unit of measure small enough im sure it could be 0 calorie.
If you want junk food, have it - BUT fit it within the nutritional guidelines and watch the calories. if you want to eat 1000 calories over your daily quota - go for it, but you must work it off.0 -
I see both sides of this argument:
1. Food is what we need to eat and water is what we need to drink... True. Food has nutritional value and food will help our body grow -- the right way. We just need to minimize --- empty calories.
2. If we are stuck on eating junk food and not quite willing to make the transition to all good foods, it is usually better to find low calorie alternatives than to continue to mass 3500 calorie surpluses in our bodies daily with at least 90% of it having no nutritional value.
The worst way = eat whatever you want without regard to anything
The better way - at least minimize the caloric intake so we don't continue to get wider
The best way ... all nutrition within the caloric needs ...0
