Double or triple "The Pink Panty Dropper"
1 can frozen concentrate pink lemonade
Vodka (I just fill the empty lemonade can once)
and a corona or two and mix.
Sounds weird but is so good:) I'll edit once I get the number of coronas, I can't remember...Go figure!!0 -
I did not get my invite. I make balloon animals!0

Let them know you will have X and Y, and if they want something specific, they should bring it!! Enjoy your party, when should we be there?0
-
I would supply some, but advise that it is BYOB.0

We usually buy a few 6 packs of beer and some bottles of wine and tell people that we have some beer and wine, but feel free to bring something specific if they want it. Usually everyone who comes brings a bottle of wine...that seems like the default, easy party gift here with the occasional 6 pack of beer. Usually we end up with way more wine than we can use, but I figure it's better to buy some ahead of time, so you don't risk running out.0

Usually I bring a bottle of something with me (wine if it's an "adult" party, rum/vodka/shooters if it's just a bunch of goofy friends) if I'm invited, the host usually has beers or some sort of pre-mixed drink like sangria that we'll help ourselves to.
If I'm hosting, people just end up bringing something with them as well, even if I tell them not to.
My liquor cabinet is pretty much always stocked though just in case0 -
I'd say at first, err on the side of providing too much, while asking people to bring additional things they like. They'll either take it back home or leave it in your stash. Doing a strictly BYO party is a bit cheezy *unless* you are with a bunch of very good friends and you know it's going to happen up front.
I usually have a keg of beer on tap, and maybe a specialty drink or two going for the night. If people want other stuff, they can contribute what they like.0 -
I would let them know what your going to supply and then also say they can bring their own. I would have like wine, beer etc.
That's what I usually do. We're not big on beer, so I usually say, "We have wine, rum, tequila, vodka, schnapps, and assorted sodas. If you want anything else, bring it."0 -
Supply a little, but say they can bring their own. I love making home made sangria so I almost always make it for summer gatherings. De-licious!0

I've always done a bring a bottle but also provided some booze myself as well.0

BYOB Takes some of the liability out of it as well.0

get some Trader Joe's 2 buck chuck! A little over $2 per bottle, a sweet deal if you ask me!0
-
We always supplied a little something special, like a new drink to try. We also told everyone that they would have to being their own alcohol, while we supplied to food. Hope it is a great time!0

I supply for an annual xmas party we host amongst our friends. Family parties like bday parties for the kids, we also supply.
All other parties that are just friends are byob.0 -
I usually budget in 1-2 drinks per person, but then people usually bring more. I usually do wine and beer in a big cooler maybe with some sodas too for people who don't want to drink.
If I runs out, it runs out. I usually do a ton of food too.0 -
I think it really depends on the occasion. If it's a graduation or formal type thing, I usually supply the food and alcohol. If it's more of a BBQ/hang-out - everyone bring a dish and BYOB.0

General rule of thumb in our house is always bring your own. For parties, having a couple of people over is mostly different except for games night and energy drinks. Bring your own drinks, bring something for the table. It's only fair.0

I've had 8-10 parties at my house with between 60-80 people each and everyone brings something. I've been doing it about 5 years, and people always ask me when I'm having my next one. I usually make my favorite drink, a combination of hypnotiq, malibu rum and pineapple juice. People love it! Other than that snacks are welcome but no desserts. No one eats them and brownies just get thrown out!
You may also want to make it easy for people to toss the trash and recycling so that cleanup is easier after. Oh, and I always have people remove their shoes even though I have hardwood floors. Trust me it will keep your place a lot nicer0 -
BYOB (bring your own booze)
It goes unsaid in South Africa , people are expected to bring their own as we are a nation of heavy drinkers0 -
yeah, whenever we have had parties we either
a] its strictly BYOB.
b] we supply like wop/jungle juice however you kno it as
c] a case or two of beer and a few bottles of liquor and soda
then just tell them that you are only supplying a small amount and if they would like anything different or more of anything to bring their own...
we have also just asked those coming who would like to participate to bring a bottle & soda or beer of their choice and then everyone shares all of it... this usually only works for a smaller party
hope you have a blast!!0 -
I would have some but would tell them to bring some too0
