I really do try to stay positive around here, I know all of you have enough to deal with without me adding to your woes. I really need to just vent my frustration for a minute. Please don't feel obligated to read or respond.
So, after I was seperated I had decided to buy my ex's part of our home from her. I loved our home, and I planned to live there until I was an old man, rocking on the front porch telling youngsters to get off my lawn. After I caught her in bed with the guy she had been cheating with (all the while swearing that there wasn't someone else) inside our home, I decided that I couldn't keep it :brokenheart: . I just couldn't stand to be there anymore after knowing what she had done in our home.
So, we put it up for sale, this was in September. After not even getting a look we finally got an offer in February. The buyer was getting financing through HUD and it has taken three months for them to get everything together for it, including nitpicking absolutely everything in the world, and wanting us to replace a 3 year old rock wall because 'it was sagging'. :noway: (After our agent said no way, the wall is fine, the deal is off, HUD decided all of a sudden that it was a great wall and didn't need to be replaced) we were slated to close tomorrow April 30th.
Well, I found out today that they are putting off the closing until Monday because they don't have their paperwork together yet...THREE MONTHS AND YOU TELL ME THE DAY BEFORE WE ARE SUPPOSED TO CLOSE THAT YOU HAVE SCREWED AROUND AND DIDN'T GET YOUR STUFF TOGETHER???
I have already secured a new place to live, the power is being turned off, I have rent and a security deposit to pay, and because of them dragging their bueareucratic feet, they have put me a in huge bind. Not to mention the peace of mind of finally being able to put the last vestiges of a horrible marriage, seperation and divorce behind me as well.
I was so looking forward to tomorrow. I just want to be free. I know it's only a few more days, but I am just so ready for this to be over. :frown:
Anyway, thanks for reading and your support. I promise to be back to my usual annoying positive self. I just have to survive a few more days.
Love you guys.

Ugh, what a nightmare. I'm sure that when Monday comes, and all the paperwork is in a file somewhere, you will forget about this week and just feel happy. Here's hoping that the rest of the week flies by. :flowerforyou:0
-
I'm so so sorry that's happening to you. Keep your head up...It'll be over soon!!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0
-
Take a deep breath, it all works out. :flowerforyou:0
-
everyone is allowed to vent, esp on here! so vent away, because this is no doubt a very cringe worthy situation!
i wish there were something we could do to help the situation, but all we can offer is support.
im so sorry you had to go through all of this, but as we know, what dosent kill us makes us stronger, AND most importantly, "He will provide"
hang in there! Chin up!0 -
Vent away! That's what we're here for. Just remember Ephesians 3:20. Hang in there! :flowerforyou:0
-
Hey but it will be over. A little later but over is over. You know what I say, make one last GOOD memory before you leave. I've got a few ideas but it would require a partner, a bucket of ice, a few viagra, a camera with a LOT of memory, a whistle, a whip, some lo-cal chocolate sauce, oh and some duck tape, lots and lots of ducktape. But I digress:blushing: :bigsmile:0
-
I don't blame you for being upset, I would be too. :flowerforyou:0

i'm torn on what to say here, so maybe i'll just be bi-polar and offer both sets of thoughts . . .
(insert crabby personality here)
*stupid idiots, that' so annoying when you're on it and holding up your end of the deal and you can't move on with your life because other ppl struggle with time management! idiots! :grumble:
(insert other personality here)
*it'll all work out and be over before you know it! think that you've been waiting for this day to happen since september, what's a few more days?
(insert the middle ground personality here & closing thoughts)
hope those foods for thought helped. i didn't want to tell you it's okay b/c right now you don't feel like it's okay, but i'm sure it will work out before you know it! and ps, you're allowed to be crabby every once in a while. i'll let you borrow my pass for the day! :flowerforyou:0 -
good venting. Better then over eating. lol Stay strong :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0

My grandma (who was wise, as all grandmas are) would remind me from time to time that sometimes we have to live on "God's time".
I have no patience, I want things NOW, and when I was frustrated because (usually I would say "forever". . .things are taking "forever!") she would remind me that I wasn't in charge of the scheduling.
It never helped in the moment, but looking back, I've seen the wisdom of a lot of that timing.
I'm sorry you're going through this frustration. But, it will work out, in God's time.:flowerforyou:0 -
Hey man its good to vent and having people to listen helps. i went through a pretty nasty divorce, lasted like 3 years, it finally ended last year and if it hadnt been for some good friends (some i only know on the internet) i might not have made it through.
Just take it one day at a time it will all work out.

I am in the Real Estate business, although I am not a realtor. However, I can testify that it is CRAZY out there. Between the picky buyers, the banks becoming more and more strict, the rules are changing everyday. Everyone is confused and crazy trying to get a handle on it all.
That being said.... I understand your frustration, on many levels. I hope you know that there is something better around the cornner waiting for you. All this is hapening to set you up for the greatest gift. So hold tight! It's on it way!:flowerforyou:0 -
Vent away!
I hope everything gets resolved for you soon. I know how it is being tied to a dead relationship, when you just want it to be over. Don't let the stuff that happened in the past cloud your future....that would be letting her have too much power over your life. She wasn't worth it then, and she's not worth it now.0 -
We are here for you! You are strong and will overcome this.... a new life is just around the corner for you!0
-
Hey
Oh CRUD..that STINKS
I hope everything gets resolved soon....and you can put the house/sale behind you
Good luck, kim0 -
One thing that I kept saying to myself during my divorce-THE ONLY WAY OUT IS THROUGH! I hope it helps you the way it helped me. Divorces and exes are like gum stuck on the bottom of your shoe. So much residue but you can do it slowly but surely!! Take care!0

Do you have a clause in your contract that forces them to pay a dollar amount per day late of closing?
I know that when I bought each of my 2 houses, that was in there, that if we didn't "close" by such and such a date, there would be a $100+ daily fee until we did close.
this was to cover things that you are mentioning, additional living expense, utilities etc for the seller.
maybe HUD makes things difficult, I don't know. But I would have hoped your realator would put that in there.0 -
I am so sorry. Just think Monday will be a great day. Things happen for a reason. Best of luck to you.
Vent anytime:flowerforyou:0 -
I FEEL YOU, MAN! Honest to goodness, I'm going through the EXACT same thing, except my ex pummeled me versus cheating! :frown: My house is on the market, and I've had two offers already, but no one can seem to close a deal! :ohwell: I've lost an opportunity on this GREAT apartment for me and the kids, but I keep hope alive!!! Just know that the next few days will seem to drag on and on and on....you get the drift! But, you'll be just fine! Then, when you move, find yourself a nice spot in the middle of your new living room, lay down and look up and the ceiling and EXHALE! It'll be all yours!! Good luck to you!!! And feel free to vent anytime! Here's to a new life without drama!!:drinker:0

(((((((((J))))))))))))
you rock boy and I agree vent away!!!! you deserve it....that's a raw deal...but its going end soon (not soon enough I'm sure...but soon! And then we'll have a mfp par-tay!!!! lol....who's in! lol:drinker:
hugs!!!!

Hey Sarge - Sorry :noway: That just sucks. So, go climb your mountain and bask in the glory of God's creation for awhile!! Nothing takes your mind off your current troubles like that. You'll feel better anyway. Just don't be too sore to move when Monday rolls around!! Remember - God has a plan for you and even this is part of it (:grumble: ) Never makes me happy though when to get to the good stuff He has I have to go through the crap first
I'll be thinking of you this weekend and praying for you! Bless you - Kim0 -
House closings are always the worst. When dh and I moved 5 years ago, the buyer for our old house was exactly like that...nitpicking, etc. The worst part of it was, the buyer was a friend since childhood (a neighborhood pal.) Needless to say, it worked out and I'm no longer on speaking terms with that girl. I felt so taken advantage of. Keep your head up. It'll all be a bad dream in 6 days. GL. Hope the rest of it is smooth sailing.0

Hey! I can't even imagine going through that. It is just a nightmare to have to deal with crap like that and I can understand how even a few more days seems like an eternity under the circumstances.
All I can say is hang in there, stay strong and do whatever you can the next few days to take your mind off things. Focus on the wonderful days ahead in your new place and your new life. It's a fresh start! Deep breath!!!
Hug!

After all your  and encouraging posts, what's a little venting. We don't mind at all. The whole house selling/buying ordeal is definitely that - an ordeal, but "this too shall pass". Hey, its pretty outside in our neck of the woods today so get out and enjoy it!0

Vent away that is what we are all here for. Vent to all of us and stay away from the food.
Sorry to here you are having to wait longer than expected that is hard.
:flowerforyou:0 -
Well, yesterday came and went and I am making my way forward to Monday. I am in my new apartment with one of my best friends (Not AJ, the kid in my photo, he's my BESTEST friend  ) and life is moving right along.
The inspector called me yesterday and wanted to nitpick something that was there when I bought the place. I told him I was done, that the deal was off and that was it. The buyers agent called back a few minutes later and told me that the inspection company had agreed that enough was enough, and that they were done, so hopefully the nightmare of selling this place is almost over (and I thought *buying* was bad).
Anyway, I want to thank everyone so sincerely for your encouragement and prayers. When I wrote this topic the other day I did it more just to vent my frustration, I didn't really think it would get the response it did. It seemed like everytime I checked someone else had something beautiful and encouraging to say , and to be honest it brought me to tears. You are the finest group of people, not only on the interweb, but on the earth. I am SO BLESSED to be apart of this community of amazing people. If anyone ever wants to visit the mountains of NC, you will always have a place to stay.
Thank you so much for being who you are.
I am overwhelmed.

AAAAWWWWW, now I'm crying. :blushing:0

Now just where in these beautiful mountains do you live? its awesome to have a friend on this site who is somewhat in my vicinity and knows the beautiful area that i have come to surround myself with every day. Im about 30 minutes west of Asheville, about 20 miles from the NC TN border, and work at the newspaper in Beautiful Downtown Waynesville!0

Hey Jeremy...I just returned yest. from a little trip, so missed the whole thread originally. Want to add my encouragement and support. Those of us who KNOW that God is in charge nonetheless are very human and can be discouraged at life's twists and turns. Even I was built up by all of the posts you received! We are waiting to hear that the deal is closed and that cruddy bit of pain is over and you have that much more ability to move on with renewed hope and faith!
Everyone here at MFP is grateful that this whole ordeal.....from the betrayal :brokenheart: to the befuddlement  ....has NOT robbed you of your spirit and sense of humor!
Panamanian coffee cheers to you my friend :drinker: :drinker:
