I'm just finished day 1 of week 2. It's a great program and it starts small, so while it's challenging, I don't feel like I want to give up. You'll do great and imagine how accomplished you'll feel at the end!

I started two weeks ago, but have not been able to follow it like I wanted. Gona restart it this Sat now that my schedule has calmed down & can do it 3 days a week. It's pretty easy to follow & like the program says start off running at a slow pace & you will gain speed later on in the program. Good luck!!

I started it in February. I repeated some weeks, had some weeks off for holidays and laziness and so on, but I finished it in April. In May I did my first 5k race. On Sunday, I did my first 10k! I am now working on improving my speed before I try and add any more distance. I've just done 5k in 31 minutes. (literally, still in sweaty gym kit writing this!) At the start of the year, running for two minutes was all I could manage. It works! Add me if you want a cheerleader for couch to 5k!

I started a couple weeks ago, but had the flu last week, running was not an option. I did get to do it last night, finally, and it felt great!!! I've never been a runner, even as a kid, but this program makes me feel like I can do it!! It fits in with my workout schedule and I like how you can repeat a week if you need to. Good luck to everyone.

It's a great program! My BFF started doing it and I was all, NO WAY IN HELL WILL I EVER RUN WITH YOU. Funny, now she's almost done with it, I have started it. I have exercise induced asthma so I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to do it, but I was surprised when I found I could!! I'm a red, sweaty mess when I am done but it feels SOOO good, I may have to repeat a few weeks here and there to build my lungs up but I know I can do it! And when I walk now, I find myself actually just wanting to run after a bit. Pretty amazing program!! Good luck! :)

Tonight is our first day of training, I walk with some other softball moms on Tuesday and Thursday nights during our daughters 2 hour practice, we walk 6.25 miles in 1hour and 50 minutes, there are 5 of us that walk, and a runner dad told us we should do the Akron Marathon as a Relay team, SO here we go with training, we are 16 weeks out! Very Excited, I ran my first mile on Sunday morning, and felt GREAT! super excited to get started this evening!

I started C25K in January of this year. I repeated two of the weeks due to travel and schedule difficulties. Loved the program. I am now running 7 to 10 K on my long runs and 5K on short days. I am only 1/3 of my way to goal weight so it feels really good to run those distances. Google for C25K Podcast list and phone apps, I found those really helpful. It is a wonderful program and you will do great. Bon Chance!

I did Wk1 Day1 last night and am glad to say I got through it fine, even though it was raining! I took advice and bought running shoes before I started, I got a long sleeved running top (because of the rain) and wore a baseball cap and hardly noticed the rain at all!

All you people who did this and now run 5k - 10k are so inspiring! I hope to be like you guys later in the year!

I want to restart this. I did the first 2 weeks awhile back, then slacked off. Shame on me.

For those that want alternate playlists, and don't have a smartphone (like me), there's a website that has different lists posted for each week that you can download. http://www.c25kplaylists.com/4801.html

If anyone wants to add me, feel free. And how are y'all tracking this? I still haven't figured out a good way.

I'm shooting for the Austin Zombie run in December! :)

I have done/am doing this program, although I hurt my foot about 2 weeks ago so I haven't done it in two weeks. :-(

A little background - I started when I weighed 330 lbs. As you can imagine, I could not keep up with the program as written. I had to repeat weeks many times over. In fact, I did Week 1 five times before I could move on to week 2.

It's a great program and as I can attest that you don't need to be a good runner or even fit to do this program. And if you finish week 1 and you're like, no way can I do week 2 yet, doing week 1 again is fine. In fact, most of the people I know who've done it, no matter what weight they are, have repeated week 1 at least once.

I lost 33 lbs and completed my first 5K in April. I'm a big fan of coucn to 5k :-)

Hi I've sent you a friend request. I'm on week 4 atm. Its no where near as hard as it looks when your first starting. Just take it slowly, repeat weeks when need be and before long you'll be amazed at how long your running for. Good Luck

It's a great program. I did it last year and I'm actually thinking of doing it again to switch things up. You can do searches online for free podcasts that have music and queues. They are great!

Hi, I'm new to posting on this site, so if i'm not doing it right, please advise. Anyway, I'm looking for advice/encouragment regarding the c25k program. Running a 5k is a 'private' goal of mine. I say private because I'm afraid to tell anyone because I'm not confident in my ability to follow through. I have been working out reguarly 2-4 times a week for over a year now, and my strength and ability have increased, but I am sill about 100lb overweight. Even though I run in short bursts while working out, I'm very intimidated about the c25k. Have any of you started the program while still overweight, or did you wait until your weight had come down considerably first?

I use the runkeeper app. You can set up your own routine in it. I set it up to tell me when to run and when to walk for the intervals. It even includes a 5 min warmup and cool down if you want. It lets you use your own playlist on your phone. It also tracks your pace for each interval, tracks a map based on GPS, and records your total distance and estimates your calories. (For me it undershot my HRM by 50-75 calories)
