RMR Testing and Results - Anyone else?

I have been having a hard time losing weight - been at it for three weeks now and the scale hasn't really budged. I've been trying to stay between 1200-1400. My gym was offering RMR testing this week, and I went this morning. I was SHOCKED to have the nutritionist tell me to aim for 1800-2000 calories a day! I am delighted but skeptical!
Anyone else have experience (good, bad) with RMR testing?

I've had my BMR and RMR professionally tested. I highly recommend it. Also V02 max.............fun.0

I had my RMR tested yesterday. It was actually pretty close to what I expected. I'm 5'2 and 110 lbs. I thought it was 1290 and I measured at 1339. It was interesting to hear that my metabolism is 4% faster than average, since I've always considered myself to have a slow metabolism.0

I am 5'7 and about 192#. I want to be about 170#. My predicted rate (resting energy expenditure) was 1647, but measured was at 1800. She said that my REE is 9% higher than average. As I mentioned above, I have been trying to stay around 1200-1400, and she told me to bump up. I'm curious how this will go.0

I thought about it but I know from long-term tracking of estimated burns, calories in and weight loss, that the estimates are close enough for me. I mean, if I eat what I calc to be say a 500 cal/day deficit for 20 weeks, I lose about 20 lbs. So either my estimates are close or I'm misestimating caloric intake in the opposite direction, in the same proportion.0
