About me: (I feel like I am writing a personal add!!! LOL)
Divorced single mom of a teenage boy. Short - 5' 2". 36 years old. Desk job. Have a good 60 lbs to lose. I have a tendency to get halfway to goal and hit a plateau and give up. I'm trying to do this a little bit slower this time in order to keep the weight off for good. This means eating more. I hate cardio but I enjoy doing workout videos at home that are either all weightlifing or a combo of both weights and cardio.
Not the prettiest gal on the planet, and I've accepted that.
I'm sarcastic. I can be pessimistic but sometimes I'm just being a realist. I can be honest to a fault. I don't sugar coat stuff. Suffer from depression off and on. Pre-diabetic and HBP and ashamed to be 36 and have those issues. So I'm doing something about it.
Good lord, I sound like a real bummer. Some good stuff perhaps?
My goal: I want my hourglass back. To get out of the obese category and into the overweight category. Don't want to be a size 2, I'd kill to be a size 8.
I'm a great listener. I'm supportive. I'm loyal, once you crack my shell and get to know me. I love to read, we can talk about books if you want. I love crafts, I make jewelry. I'm funny.
If you need a friend and have similar circumstances. (I need more activity on my wall!!!) I'm here.

I am looking for the same too. A good supportive network of friends. I have also lost the weight and been in shape before but gained it all back. It's always good to have some support. So if you feel up for it. You can add me.0

It's making me sound like I'm fishing for compliments. I'm not. Really. But thank you...0 -
add me as friend....
as for the video - cardio thing....i really like Jillian Michael 30-day shred. it had a combo of 3 mins strength & 2 mins cardio 1 min abs. definitely lose the inches to get the hourglass figure back.
i'm 37, married w/2 kids (see my profile for me details) - i've hit a long plateau but doing my best to stick w/everything. i know the weight will come off.
not sure where you live or what gym u go to, but try some kind of boot camp class or a zumba class (dance). you will need the cardio to get the fat off.
great for you for doing something about HBP & pre-diabetic. such a good motivator.
i can be a great support person for you - help u w/exercise ideas, food choices - whatever. i don't know everything, nor do i want to know everything :-). also, i can be a great cheerleader too :-).
have a great day0 -

I love all people! Especially ones that don't sugar coat things.0

Hi! I'm 35, and want my body back, too! I'm also into crafts and reading -- also gardening for the first time this summer. Nothing major, just a little container garden on my boyfriend's deck.
I just joined a gym for the first time (sort of) and hired a trainer to help me learn how to work out to meet my goals. She is awesome, and the money I spend for her time and expertise is one of the best investments I've ever made.
Can we post pics here? I'd love to see some of the jewelry you've made!

Oh lord. I was hoping you wouldn't see this. Just because I'm new at the boards, doesn't mean I haven't been lurking for awhile. :-)0 -
Always looking for new buds on here. Add me0

I'm looking for a group as well, and please don"t say such things about yourself! I need a support system that really works and does not fall of the planet! So you may add me if you like.0
-
Agreed your adorable! Friend me! I am always here for support!0
-
I am always looking for support too. I myself have a desk job, and I find it hard to sneak in activity. Good Luck - you can get your hourglass figure back. Don't give up.0
-
I would love any friends from this group, I've added a couple of you already from this thread but feel free to send me a request if I didn't get around to you (need to get off the computer and work out).
I'm 20 next month, a third year psychology major in a small Canadian university. I'm doing Jillian Michaels 90 Day Body Revolution at the moment and when I get back to school I'm going to be starting NROL4W (no gym membership until I go back to school, sigh).
Just sort of tired of when I sometimes check my friends diary and they only eat like 800 calories, 1200 calories, or something low like that. I feel sort of guilty for eating so much sometimes, I wonder what they'd think if they checked my (open to friends) diary. Haha for this reason, I'd love friends from this group!0 -
Feel free to add me!!
I'm 40, 5ft even - I have about 30 - 35 more pounds I'd like to lose.0 -
Desk job.
We have something in common !!
Honestly though, I just started working out/eating healthier again after some months of chaos, I'd love to support and be supported. Add me!0 -

Cardio isn't as effective at weightloss as we gals have been led to believe. It's better to do at least *some* strength training as well, to build up muscle that burns more fat!
I also:
-am trying to lose more slowly.
-am at risk for diabetes (my mother has Type 2)
-suffer depressive bouts (had one of those Monday night :ohwell: )
-am ashamed and embarrassed by my weight
-am supportive!!!!
-love books. What kind do you read? Fantasy here.0 -
I really don't have a favorite genre...I read just about anything as long as it is well written. I just finished the Millenium Trillogy (Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) books and I just loved them. I'm looking for another series to keep me occupied.0

Just sent you a friends request!0
-
Welcome! I too am trying to loose weight the right way and keep it off. You are more than welcome to add me so we can be there for each other!0

Personality-wise, you sound just like me. I am sarcastic and pessimistic, but with a good heart. I have also dealt with depression my whole life, and I have a heart condition (which I find a bit embarrassing as well, because I'm only 25!). I am finding that the healthier I am weight-and-food-wise, the healthier I feel mentally. It's not a magic trick to improve your health and then suddenly feel "cured" of depression, but it has ben helping me for sure.
My weight and fitness goals are different (I'm 5'5", already fairly slim, looking to get in better shape because I'm a weakling and have no endurance) but I'm a good MFP friend!
As for the video thing, I have been really into yoga lately (because of a knee-injury, I've had a tough time doing much cardio at the gym) and although I attend a class twice a week, I also find that there are lots of free videos on YouTube that I've enjoyed doing even on mute while I watch a movie.
Oh, and I'm a major book nerd.0 -

Have you ever read the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon? It is 7 books so far with another one coming out next fall and there is a spin off series of 4 books. AMAZING!0
