oh dear

whilst buying my dinner on the way home, i bought a pack of cookies. I intended them to last the whole week, but I have eaten 4, at 700 calories (for the 4)

I would have had an extra 40 cals left had I not had them, and i didnt really need them.

:'(

I think it happens to most of us at some point. The best thing you can do is forgive yourself and resolve to do better starting now.

you could go work out. 525 calories is not that hard to burn (30-45 minute workout) and that would be as if you just ate 1.

We learn everyday from our mistake. Just dont buy them or have them in the house. Move on tomorrow is a new start. We start new everyday. Just dont beat yourself up over it. You know the problem now look forward

I agree, learn from the mistake and now you know you might have to rethink buying the cookies next time since it was too tempting to eat them all at once.

tip that helped me: Never eat out of the package, set aside how much you intend to eat, put cookies, chips, whatever back in cabinet and then eat the portion you set aside.

Been there, done that! Take a walk - do anything that will let you end this day with a positive outlook. And then move on. It's not the end of you or your progress - don't let being human derail you!

I think that everyone has done that. The best thing to do, is try to not do it again. One bad day while dieting is one day. It is a mistake that you can fix later in the week by working out longer and not eating those calories.
Just keep up the drive that you had before this.

I did almost the same thing today...they brought lunch in at work, which happens about 4-5 times a week (ugggh) and there were fajitas, sweet potato chips and chocolate chip cookies/other sweets. I ate my lunch I brought from home and avoided the fajitas, but then the dreaded 2:00pm hour came around and the sweet potato chips and chocolate chip cookies were calling for me. As soon as I ate them I wished I hadn't. I had my entire calorie budget laid out for the day and blew it :( Nice to read everyone's responses to you...

A 'teachable moment'. Yeah, I thought about that after I ate a chocolate croissant and logged it and realized it was as many calories as my lunch.

It's what I've learned logging my food - what foods are worth it and what aren't. We all make decisions every day. Move on. AND DON'T EAT THE REST OF THE BOX!

I do this too, but almost always when shopping while hungry so I try not to do that! Even a snack before can help, then I don't get so distracted by stuff on the way round. :)
  • i agree, let it go. get in a workout of any kind and start again tomorrow

You can still make them last the whole week, you know. Just don't buy another pack of cookies this week. It doesn't matter if you go over your calories one day and under the next day. Try adding up your weekly total and you might find it easier.

yeah... this is what I typically do, if I don't let my remorse drag me down. 8)

Take those cookies to work and feed your coworkers all of the rest of them (I like to feed my snacks to the really buff guys:tongue: ) and then find some that are less calories. Trader Joes has some really good chocolate chip ones 3 for 140 calories or Ginger Snaps from Country Choice you can have 5 for 140 calories. Don't let this one slip ruin today though. Go for a walk or do some running in place. Tomorrow is a new day!:flowerforyou:
