Jamba Juice "Make It Light"- any thoughts?

Hi everyone,

Sometimes I like to get a Jamba Juice for my lunch on hot days like today. I was looking at the menu online to decided what I want, and saw that they have a new "Make it Light" feature where you can get it with 1/3 less calories. Has anyone tried this? What makes it a 'light' smoothie? Does it taste okay? I am not a fan of 'light' or 'diet' things usually so I was wondering what people thought.

Thanks!

I'd look up and see if they are replacing regular things with something like splenda or another artificial sweetener.

Honestly, for me Jamba is just for if I'm in a super hurry when I'm out or an occasional treat. They are really high in sugar. BUT they do have a few smoothies (the fruit and veggie ones come to mind) that, if you get the 16oz, they are pretty low calorie anyways (under 200). I add a couple protein boosts and it's a decent meal on the go. You don't really need to "go light" unless you're in super danger of going over calories really. :)

They make frozen ones that you can buy in the freezer section, just add an a cup of apple juice. They aren't too bad. You can save some money and calories and get the frozen ones.

There nutrition facts are posted on there website and on there menu. They have light smoothies that are delicious! I love the strawberry nirvana. And yes, they do add splenda to some of them but who really cares? Treat yourself once in awhile :)

The nutrition facts are online: http://www.jambajuice.com/component/nutfacts

I drank one as a meal replacement after my mouth was numbed at the dentist. It was good--it does taste "lighter," though.

I used to work at Jamba Juice. Honestly, their "light" smoothies aren't really that great. If you want a lower calorie and healthier option, ask them to make you your own smoothie with soy milk or a juice base, 1 scoop non fat yogurt, and fruit. There's no need for the splenda added sweetened smoothies... the fruit does it for you!
