Obsessed

I have logged over 165 days in a row and I would be such a stressed out mess if I didn't. I would have never lost all the weight I did without this site, but yes somethings I feel like it a slight obsession.0

Yes!!! Omg I will prepare myself a meal and sit at the table and log it before I even have a bite! I count calories in my head before I decide what I am going to eat, yesterday at work the first thing I did when I got off my shift was log what I ate for lunch...I'm obsessed!!! I've been counting calories for three years and I find myself counting other peoples calories!0

Haha I love telling my boyfriend how many calories are in his food. He doesn't watch what he eats at all (he's 6 ft, 148 lbs, with the world's fastest metabolism) so his meals easily go over 1000 calories in one sitting.0 -
When I first started MFP back in February, I logged EVERYTHING. I have been a little lax with logging my food lately, but I am still losing. I am more obsessed with working out and I feel extremly guilty if I don't workout every single day. I love this site and I have learned so much from it.0

I'm pretty obsessed with it, I'm going on vacation in 2 weeks....I'll won't be able to log for a week, I'm already stressing about it.0

I can only do it one way. Totally committed to exercise, totally committed to what I eat. Obsessed no doubt. I am a calorie bore!0

I totally understand where you guys are coming from!! haha I think I'm obsessed as well. Ah well, the way I see it - I could be obsesed/addicted to much worse so if healthy eating and exercise are the only thing I'm doing good in my opinion! Good luck everyone!!0

I am totally obsessed with logging but it has taught me so much about my habits, weaknesses and strengths. Totally an obsession I can live with x0

i love logging everything. I was so far off with how many calories i THOUGHT i was eating during the day. I couldn't understand why I wasn't losing weight until I started logging everything and really realized I was not eating as great as I thought I was. Now I"m totally motivated to work out and burn those calories so that I can have a treat at the end of the day :-)0

I have to eat out a lot so I spend quite a bit of time researching online menus and dishes I might want to eat just so I can prelog and make everything work. Being able to use the app really takes the compulsion to the next level I think. Not a bad one, but one nonetheless.0

I look up and log every bite I take. I plan what I am going to eat every meal.0

We eat out almost every meal, so i plan, plan and plan. I look up every bite and log everything, even if I chew a piece of gum.0

What was the quote?
"The lazy have a word for those who are dedicated... obsessed."0 -
I mean if I were (God forbid) diabetic and needed insulin shots to be healthy, I would have to do that. So, if i need to use a journal, even if it means for the rest of my life, in order to be healthy . . . so be it!
^^^This sums it up brilliantly.
Having said that, I think my obsession is becoming a bit unhealthy... when it was the queen's jubilee a couple of weeks ago, and we had a party at school (I'm a teacher), we were told in no uncertain terms that we were expected to sit and eat with the kids, and eat the party food. I took one look at what was on the plate, panicked, ran off to have a cry, and didn't eat any of it. But then again, the number of times when we genuinely can't control what we eat are very very rare.0 -

I wish I had the courage to be lazy!0 -
I"m not obsessed actually. Out cycling I swallowed a fly. The calories and protein have NOT been accounted for and it hardly bothers me!0

Once I logged for six months solid. Then went to Disneyland for a week and took a break and never went back, thinking I could wing it. I couldn't. I'm not so sure I'll ever be able to. I find that a little sad but then again many people need to keep to a strict money budget that they have to monitor daily, so I'm glad I'm able to at least eyeball that area and be ok!0
