So I worked out for 32 minutes/30 level/6 incline.

I set my weight in the system to be LESS than I actually am so the calories would be more accurate. Does that make sense? It said I burned 450 calories for 32 mins.

If my weight was set higher wouldn't it have said I burned more calories and be a less accurate reading??

good question!! i want to know to so i can be more accurate with mine!! =] And mine only goes to level 20 =[ boo..
  • Wow. I usually log 100 calories per 10 minutes. The machines are not terribly accurate, I've done some research with multiple sites and a heart rate monitor. For me, I usually do the elliptical for about 40 minutes and log 400 calories as long as I did some serious sweating and used the incline and resistance at high levels.

I don't know, mine always seems to be lower than what it should be.

I have googled and found a website that gives me a calories burned based on weight, sex, time, and heartrate. I think heartrate would be the most accurate, but i really don't know. I usually use what my elliptical tells me and know that I'm underestimating them.

This sounds pretty close to the calories I've seen, aside from my own elliptical.

My machine logs it at about 52 cals per 5 mins. Which would be 333 for 32 mins . Don't know how accurate they are but they surely knock the wind outta me :drinker:

I mean burning 14-15 calories per 10 mins wouldn't be that hard to do right? I do sweat a lot and definately am moving my butt at high speeds! haha

It's was also an ARC trainer...not elliptical.

Whoops! I hear you burn more calories on the ARc vs. Elliptical.

    Any ideas?
