Yaye! So, I haven't really weighed in the last two weeks because I was determined to see the scale drop....and I had been getting frustrated. Yippie! I didn't do as well as I could have this weekend, although I didn't go over my calories in the slightest... I just didn't choose as healthy of options. But, I didn't go overboard, so that felt good. Going to "up" my workouts this week and add some more strength training. I can finally feel my stomach muscles! Horray! Have a great week !!

I have been SO BAD in the last month!! :embarassed:

I got into a relationship and got really distracted...started eating poorly, drinking, and barely lifting. I was running 3-5 miles every other day which helped curb my weight gain, but I'm back to my starting weight.

The relationship is over now.:grumble: So I'm back to focusing on ME. Over the weekend I met up with one of my bodybuilding friends from undergrad who is preparing for a show in 3 weeks, and he looked amazing. I realized that if he can do that while he's in nursing school, I can do it too.

So I have revamped my workout and changed my macro ratios to include more protein and fewer carbohydrates. I feel fuller generally and the low-carb does assist in keeping insulin levels lower. I'm als timing my carbs for breakfast and pre/post workout. Very little before bed to keep GH levels from dropping overnight. More veggies and fruits.

I'm starting week 6 of the Gateway to 8K tomorrow, so my running is up around 45 minutes Tues/Thurs/Sun. I'm lifting Mon/Wed/Fri with lots of pyramids and supersets. Saturday will be my off-day.

I'm starting AGAIN at 133.4, but by January 1 I will still be able to lose 5-8 lbs! Bring it on!!

    Thanks!

    I'm HUNGRY.

It takes a few days for me to adjust to the carb/calorie changes. I'm hoping tomorrow will reflect my hard work! I was actually up to 135 ish in the morning a couple weeks ago :noway: Today my roommate remarked that my legs looked slimmer in comparison to earlier this month. Whew!

    Hey Guys!

Been MIA for a really long time and so have the losses. Giving myself the weekend to relax aftersome hellish weeks at work - those always do me in. Going to catch up on my sleep and get over this beginnings of cold i am feeling.
Starting monday i am on vacation for two weeks to study for the a part of the CPA exam - and get back full time in the gym. My goal other than the lbs, is to do cardio for 60 minutes, and lift for 30 every day.

    Yay, FRIDAY!!

What are everyone's weekend activity plans?

Today is Leg Day for me...so some plyometrics and lots of unilateral high-rep stuff specific to running.
Saturday is my day off (FINALLY...I am TIRED).
Sunday I'm starting Week 7 of the Couch to 5K!

I am sticking to my calories still. Saturday I'll probably do a bit higher-calorie like maintenance with 50% carbs rather than 40%.

OMG hubby brought home half of a huge chocolate cake that was left over from a birthday at his work! :frown:

i have managed to have one tiny slice (about 200cals!!!) and incorporate it into my cals, but it took all my will to ask him to throw the rest away, as i have no will power and would be thinking about it in the fridge in the middle of the night if i left it there! :noway:

Having yummy stuff like that around the house is the worst!! Good idea just getting rid of it. It's hard for me to resist those temptations. Luckily I can't afford them! I ate very lightly this weekend so I'm hoping for a good weigh in on Thursday! :drinker:

I don't what has happened recently. Ok, check that. No lies. I DO know what's happened. Halloween happened. I am a HUGE sucker for sugar, in ANY form. Natural, processed, doesn't matter. If it ends with -ose, I will eat it. I thought I was doing alright, just one little fun size bar in the afternoon. Oh, and maybe one more in the car on the way home. Ok, maybe two. Or three. I have also been MEGA busy and stressed at work. (I'm a band and choir teacher for 7th-12th graders.) I have had more days without exercise in the last two weeks than I have had days with. So, this afternoon my daughter (5yo) and I turned the TV to the 80's music channel and we've been bustin' a move for 30 minutes or so. (I sat down to post this because I was out of breath!) She seems to be lovin' the music and the dancing, so we'll try to make this a daily occurance. Anybody still have a "Sweatin' to the Oldies" sitting around? I love the music, watching Richard is always hilarious, and I think the kiddos would love it. I may have to dig my mom's old ones back out. Do you think they have them on DVD? Ok, so probably not. Oh well. I AM STARTING OVER TODAY! I CAN lose 15 lbs by New Year's! I hope everyone has had a better couple weeks than I have.

Hope it's not too late to join the team...

    Name: Jillian
    Previous Weight: 195
Start Weight of Challenge: 177 (beginning of Sept)
    Current Weight: 174
Goal Weight as of 1/1/2010: 155
    Final Goal Weight: 145

Hobbies: Biking, Walking Dog, Playing Flute, playing with my three kids
Interesting Fact: My favorite job was working at Walt Disney World as a co-op student in the engineering department. I got to see the characters just after their shows (with their character heads off) and it was hilarious!

Well, I'm baaacckk, if you will have me. Got off the bandwagon and it's time to get back on. I am back to my previous weight of 177, from beginning of September. I know it will keep inching up and I do not want to go back to my high of 195. I have been avoiding logging calories and general accountability. It's obviously not working. I've been in the beating myself up mode and oh, how I can rationalize to myself about my stress and how I don't have time for this. It's time for me to prioritize my health to the top of my list. Today is a new day and I will not look back. Thanks for listening.

Well I had a much better week. Still crazy busy with work and family, but managed to squeeze more exercise in.

My husband ran in a Turkey Trot today. Really impressed with him. :glasses: (He did the 2 mile in just under 22 minutes. It was his first race since HS track when he ran in the "fat man's relay.") I will admit that I'm a little jealous. He started the couch 2 5K because I sent him a link to it. I sent him the link because I wanted to try it! :ohwell: Unfortunately I never seem to have time to myself to exercise. My usual is to walk a mile+ with the kiddos (2 and 5) in tow. We (the kids and I) have started "dancing" to oldies and 80's tunes to up the ante. I would love to be able to go to a gym where I could let the kids play in a children's area while I work out. Unfortunately I live, literally, in the middle of no where! (We drive 30+ miles to get to the nearest town with a grocery store!:noway:) Hubby runs in the am, which I would like to do with him, but we can't leave the kids at home alone.

I feel like I'm the "do what I say, not what I do" queen. I've told several friends that you "just have to make time for you" and here I am, not making time for me.:frown: But I feel stuck. My only times to workout are either while DH is running in the AM, or before he gets home in the afternoons. There's a weight bench that DH uses downstairs, but the last time I lifted was 15 years ago, and I'll admit I wasn't too into then. I don't know that I would feel comfortable lifting while they were unsupervised.

Any suggestions for exercises I can do with the kids? I refuse to let this stop me, but it sure is frustrating.

Here's to another good week! (Which should be interesting with all the Thanksgiving fare!)
