Stupid question

Say I'm having oats for breakfast, do I enter the weight I ate uncooked or cooked? Confused :/

Maybe instead of weighing you could measure with mearing cups. For most plain oatmeal it's about 300 calories for an uncooked cup, so a serving of 1/3 cup would be 100.

The database entries usually specify cooked or uncooked for various foods. I usually just go by the package serving size, so I can just look at the label, look at food entry, and be done. Minimal calculating.

Oats are usually measured uncooked, because of the variance of how much water can be added.

Either or really. I enter my uncooked coz its obviously easier to measure dry than wet.
