ok so I have been at this for almost 7 months now. i seem to do great for a while and then lose motivation for a week or 2 or more. even during these weeks i still track everything but my working out seems to drop in about half. i find it hard to keep my motivation up and going. anyone else have this problem or had? how do u combat those feelings of its never going to change? i have lost around 30 pounds and have gone down in clothes size however when i look in the mirror i really don't see it. Hubby sees it and tells me how good i am doing but i get to where i just want to throw in the towel and say thats it. i have never been one to quit easily and don't want to start now but its like the drive and motivation seems to go for a while and i can't figure out how to keep it. would love ideas and suggestions. thanks in advance to all who comment even those who post smarty pants comments cause they can be funny.

First thing, great work on sticking with it for 7 months A 30lb loss is awesome and you should be proud!
What are you doing for exercise? Perhaps you don't enjoy it which would lead to not being motivated to do it! Have you tried switching things up?0 -

I hear you. Before mfp, I lost 35 pounds, but then I had surgery last October and gained 15 back. I am having a real hard time to get back the right mindset. I am good for a week, but then the weekends just blow it. And I get discouraged because I feel like I am at square one again.0

I wish I had some great answers, but I can't say that I do. I have been in a similar pattern for pretty much all of my adult life. I do find that when I'm in a rut it helps to try something new. For example, last summer I took golf lessons.
I think one of the challenges that would be tough for you (since we've been pals my entire time on MFP) would be your busy family life and young kids. Do you have a place like a YMCA near you where you could take a class for just YOU and the kids could go to a kids class or drop-in activity? Carving out time just for you would be hard, but might cause you to look forward to that time a little more?
I can totally understand the frustration with not feeling motivated, but I've "watched" you here for awhile and I think you're doing great!0 -
Don't just worry about the weight loss part of this journey. Most importantly, focus on getting healthy!!! Losing 30 pounds is AWESOME and it took an AWESOME person to do that!!! So what if it takes 7 months to lose 30 pounds. Yes, it's hard work. It'll probably never be easy, but you CAN beat this!!! Stick with it no matter what and NEVER THROW IN THE TOWEL. Have you taken any pictures? I take them the beginning of every month and even though in one month I only lost 4 pounds, I could tell the difference in the pictures. I take them from the front, back, and side and make them full body shots (minus my face). My biggest change so far has been in my back. I lost a whole roll!!! hahaha... but it's true!!! Then I had surgery and have been slowly slowly recovering. I gained back about 2-3 pounds and am still fighting to get them off, but I don't care how long it takes (sooner than later would be nice), but I am not giving up. Food to me is the devil in disguise and he's NOT going to win!!! Feel free to add me! I'd love to support you if you feel I could maybe help you stay motivated. Best wishes on your journey... you ARE worth this!!!0
