OK, the erroneous syntax, is one thing...

However the misplaced tile is another, I would normally be able to walk into a room and instantly know how many tiles there were , the misplaced tile automatically throws me, lol.

I kind of get why my neighbor calls me Sheldon now

As the wife and mother of individuals with OCD, and as a mental health professional, this just so describes the disorder - the lack of completeness that keeps one going back over and over to try and make it right.

As the mother of a child with OCD, it doesn't quite describe it.

So many people have no idea what OCD is really like or about. It's not really about being a clean freak or needing things in a certain order.

An example of true OCD: "Having the thought that a loved one is going to die if you don't turn on the light switch ten times per day". That's just one example, but that is what OCD is really like.

OCD is debilitating and the people who have it suffer greatly.

I'm all for having fun and I know this post was not made in a serious manner, so I am not offended. In fact, I used to make these same jokes about my Marine husband and his neatfreak ways.

But now I know better. Thought you all should be educated as well.

It describes an ASPECT of the disorder. As a mental health professional myself, I get my panties in a wad when I read threads like this making light of a serious disorder that involves real obsessions and real compulsions. OCD is a scary and anxiety-inducing way to live, and it isn't about making sure there aren't any grammatical errors in sentences.

DISCLAIMER: Duh, yes I realize this was just a silly thread, and its funny and haha, I'm sure I'll piss people off by trying to make serious of it, and I apologize in advance. I don't like thread drama, I just wanted to make a point because disorders like this are serious *kitten*.

    Oh...and close the parentheses :)

There are many different types or levels of OCD. I have it. I've never experienced something like the like switch situation you described. I repeatedly check doors and windows around the house and wash my hands a lot.

I didn't notice the missing parentheses until just now. I actually came in here just to make fun of the OP.

Now, there's no joy in it. :grumble:
