Pain in hip when power walking??

I have been doing a power walking video for about a week now. The idea is to walk the first mile in 15 minutes. They walk REALLY fast and when I get into about the 6th minute , my right hip starts to ache. I got a really good pair of walking shoes and that helped a little. Is this just because I'm starting out? Anyone else had this problem?

It's your IT band. So a search for stretches to do before and after you walk. Had this same problem and asked my DR. And like ^^ said...you can use a foam roll as well...0

I have had this problem before, and it was in part due to my shoes. Also, I would do a lot of stretching before you power walk. I found this stretch in particular to really help:
