Ok so not going to lie. I hate running. I despise it. I find it hard to motivate myself to go and do it. Does anyone know any tips on how to make this easier?
I started the couch to 5k yesterday. I got a pretty cool app for my phone. Its called couch to 5k and it tells you when to jog or walk it times it out how far to go and plays my music. I like that it tells me when to do whatever. They have different options to select too like what kind of "instructor" you want I have the drill sargent to hopefully motivate me more. lol

im on W7D1 AGAIN and I dont just love it, BUT i do feel a great sense of accomplishment when Im finished. To think that just a few weeks ago I could only run for 90 seconds and now I can run 2.25 mi (albeit SLOW) feels wonderful!! Just hang in there! The hardest steps are the ones out the door!0

I am gonna be right there with you on Monday. I think the best way to get through it is to know you aren't alone, and to set goals for yourself. For example, I am going to be running races in Spetember. That is my goal. When you run, repeat to yourself why you want to run and what you started this for. Also, drink LOTS of water.0

I'm signing up for one race in sept. the color me rad one, that looks fun and then another one that im going to do that i did last year was the run @ the Jacksonville Jag stadium, thats in Aug. That was a really good one.
@sarashouse where do u go run at?0 -
And you know me...I always try to encourage you to do it. It is just plain great exercise. It will get easier. I am the slowest runner you know, and I just keep going. Also, I love being outside, so that helps. But as I have seen numerous others post - that first mile is a killer. Then, after that, my body usually accepts that it is going to take a beating and submits. Just keep swimming!! (in this case...running!)0

What is the app name?0

The app name is C25K. I started this and was doing it one day at a time as instructed...this week I bumped it up a notch and completed week 3 in one day (and ran thae cool down walks between the days) and most of week 4 today. Both days I covered 6.5 miles and loved it (although I am feeling it a bit more today). I think I might have found an exercise that I really, really enjoy - running of all things.0

It's great that you're starting the C25K! I found that making my own playlist with super awesome songs helped a lot. I would download the podcast with just the voice saying when to run and when to walk, and then put my own tunes on top of it with Garage Band. It was fun and nerdy, and hearing awesome music while I was running kept me motivated. Besides that, try to take it at your own pace so you don't burn all your energy in one go. Also, if you can run outside, totally do it. Treadmills are boring. I look forward on seeing how you do! (which will be great, I'm sure)0

Hello! This Couch to 5k sounds pretty interesting, and I thought I would give it a go. I downloaded a version to my mobile phone and I am going to start on monday. I've never done this before, (any exercise program) and walking / running seems to be the best one to start with.0

I haven't signed up yet, gotta get that money... The Couch to 5K thing is GREAT so far, I pushed really hard. Lots of good results. It will get you in shape, I promise. Just don't make the same mistake I did and NOT be hydrated enough!0
