I've been taking Tae Kwon Do for about 7 months now, and it's definitely helping me in the weight loss department, as well as being more flexibile.

Anyone else here practice a martial art?

    Muay Thai here!! It has definitely challenged me but I have noticed a change in strength, and endurance. Plus it's a blast =)

    Not me, but I'm pretty immersed in TKD and hapkido through my kid. She'll be testing for 2nd Dan in TKD in October. She works in the dojang as a secretary, teaches classes, and is on the school's demo team.

    Aikido -- although temporarily off until I get a new car.

    It didn't really help me with weight loss (I just ate more) but it sure as hell helped me with flexibility, fitness, and self-esteem.

    They have a Combat Hapkido class at my school as well. I'm thinking of giving that a whirl down the line.

    My kids have been in TKD for about a year, and I just joined. My first class I sweated 2 pounds of water weight.

    I do Krav Maga. It is a hell of a workout.

    My son goes to the same school as well, and he's been there for a year. It has really helped him with discipline and respect, as well as getting him active.

    I used to do TKD. I do Muay thai now.

    I do Shotokan karate; been doing it since I was 8, so hasn't really helped with weight loss because it was my diet that I needed to take control of as opposed to exercise. Got my 2nd dan last year :smile:
