As a college graduate, pizza was one of my downfalls. However, you can still have pizza and have it low-calorie and healthy too! I've come to like this healthier version more than regular pizza because it's not greasy but still really filling, as well as really quick and easy to make.

Ingredients:
1 whole-wheat mini pita
6-8 slices low sodium turkey pepperoni
1/4 cup marinara sauce (I use low-sodium garden variety)
1/4 cup 2% shredded cheese
1/4 cup diced green peppers
1/4 cup chopped mushrooms
1/4 cup baby spinach
1/4 tsp pizza seasoning

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Microwave pita for 30 seconds to make it soft (or, if you prefer it crunchier, don't). Spread marinara sauce over pita, leaving the edges dry for crust. Sprinkle on 2% shredded cheese and place the turkey pepperoni. Place green peppers, mushrooms, and spinach over the pizza and sprinkle pizza seasoning over all. Bake for 10 minutes, let set for one minute.

You can swap out whatever veggies you like.

Yes sounds good. I've done something very similar except I used fat free mozzarella cheese with black olives and mushrooms on 60 calorie pita bread yummy. I agree not greasy and better!

    We do something like this
    whole wheat pita
    salsa (instead of marinara)
    grilled chicken
    low fat mozzarella
    black olives
    green pepper
    onion
    any other fresh veggies
It is a great low cal alternative to pizza and very filling.
