1 Scoop protein, 1 cup frozen mixed berries, 1 cup milk - delicious and filling with added fiber.
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein (about 28g)
    1 tbsp peanut butter
    1 frozen banana
    1 cup skim milk
2 cups of spinach (i've also made this with 1/4 cup of oats to get more carbs in)

Looks crazy but tastes amazing, great post-workout meal

I would have to agree with the coffee ice cubes..pinterest? :)
  • saw a great suggestion online the other day. Haven't tried it yet, but if you're looking to watch the calories or don't want to use milk they suggested using tea. Brew flavored teas, any flavor, and use it instead of just plain water. You could apply the coffee ice cube trick to tea also.

If it is going to be breakfast or a large snack, my favorite is:

    1 scoop chocolate protein powder
    5 frozen strawberries
    handful of baby spinach
    1/3 of an avocado
    1 banana
water or milk, depending on what I feel like

    creamy, huge, filling, and delicious

    water+powder

I've read studies that say you want to have carbs in it (fruit etc), the insulin response helps the muscle cells to bring the protean inside the cell...I'm not an expert, just what I read.

I always use 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk, 3 tbsp of Nutiva Hemp Protein & Hi Fiber powder, and 1/2 of a frozen banana. The rest I just improvise.
Something that is delicious that a lot of people don't consider adding is carrots or dates. I love making,"carrot cake," smoothies with some cooked carrots, cinnamon, and ginger.
Dates are amazing for naturally sweetening things, especially if you are trying to cut any processed sugar.
Or add 1/2 cup of unsweetened apple sauce to sweeten.

1 to 1.5 cups unsweetened coconut milk (less = thicker shake)
1 or 2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1 to 1.5 frozen bananas (more = thicker)
2 TBS unsweetened dark chocolate cocoa powder (this will be REALLY chocolatey)
1-2 tsp Truvia, depending on your taste (or other sweetener of choice)
big, healthy shake of good cinnamon

Tastes like an ultra rich chocolate shake. Was my dinner tonight and it feels like I'm having dessert for dinner.

When you use the pb2 do you out it in the shake as powder or do you mix it with water first then put it in?

    Just curious,

    1c unsweetened almond milk
    1/2 frozen banana
    4 ice cubes
1 scoop chocolate or vanilla protein powder (depending on my mood)
    1-2 Tbsp natural peanut butter

I also enjoy 1c blueberries or strawberries, but banana is my absolute fav!!

I also think it makes a huge difference in the thickness of the shake depending on the order in which the ingredients are blended. I first blend the almond milk and pb, then add the powder and blend, then frozen banana and blend and finally the ice. It's just like a milkshake and it's great when i'm having reeses pb cup cravings!!

I just toss it in my blender in powder form.
