Today was Day One of my endeavor. I have officially started logging my calorie intake and exercise minutes. I have a feeling it will take awhile to get used to the routine of logging in everything, but I am really going to try to stay on top of it. Even though I'm just on my first day, it does feel good to look back at my morning and see that I did some exercises for 30 minutes this morning and then just a bit ago I actually laced up my sneakers, tied my hair back and took a walk around my neighborhood, which ended up being a 40-minute outing. And it was good to get out and do it. I actually enjoyed the time to think about things while out in the sunshine and I think I can make this a daily routine. My struggle now is figuring out what I need to fill my pantry/fridge with in order to make sure I'm eating healthier. I had shredded wheat for breakfast, that was a good start. If you have a helpful "grocery list" for me, please share! I'm going to check out some of the nutrition and recipe posts too.

i would have added feta if i had some, or olive if i liked them for a really greek salad,

Try healthygrocerylist.com. It has a lot of healthy recipes and then sets you up a grocery list so that you can buy what you need to make them. Very cool.

And welcome to the site!!! :flowerforyou:

    Great Job:flowerforyou: Keep it up.
    Small steps are the best:flowerforyou:
    For the grocery store
    almonds
    fruits
    leafy greens
    lots of color
    olive oil
    fish
    lean meats
    chicken
    Turkey
    multi grains
    whole wheat pasta
    garlic
    lots of veggies
no pre made meals-cook your own
    eggs
    100% natural peanut butter
    no processed foods
    milled flax seed
    pickles-10 calorie snack
    brown rice
    quinoas
lots of fresh herbs-plant them yourself
    mustard-reg or deli
read your labels. Watch out for hydrogenated oils and trans fat and MSG and all the other bad things for you.
    Wheat flour
The first couple of times is frustrating and before long, you will whip right through that store. Good luck to you!!:flowerforyou:
