You don't have to have a city or team, nor do you have to watch the professionals to love the great game of baseball. Louisiana is crazy about baseball on the lower levels (we have no MLB team) - from Little League to our AAA Zephyrs.

Growing up going to the ball field was something that I assumed everyone did.

So.... who loves the game? (You don't have to say who your favorite team is, as if that qualifies you as a lover of the game... Most people who attend baseball games love their team and city much more than the game itself.)

i do love baseball. I particularly love playoff baseball because of the small nuances that make a difference. I am more of a fan of National League baseball (in MLB) because of the added strategy to deal with the pitcher in the batting order.

I am a baseball fanatic. From going to the games, playing the games (I play on a vintage baseball team), the history, the unwritten rules and great stories and memories.

I never used to be a Baseball fan...but then I started dating my SO and the rest is history.... He LOVES the game. He has played both competitive hardball and slo-pitch... We always make an effort to go to at least a bare minimum of 5 or 6 Blue Jay games for the season (which is difficult because he goes away every other weekend for baseball tournaments himself! LOL). I have spent the last 10 years of my life watching, learning, playing and even growing to love the game!

I've been a baseball fan as long as I can remember. I loved playing it as a kid and was fortunate to continue playing a few years past high school. Whenever I travel for business, the first thing I do is check for a game in whatever city I will be traveling.

I wouldn't say that I am a fanatic, however, I do enjoy watching the Cincinnati Reds. I was in college when the Big Red Machine ruled baseball. They have had their tough times, too, over the years but they have always been my favorite team. I do appreciate, though, great players of rivals such as, Derek Jeter, Josh Hamilton and Albert Pujols to name a few.

I'm a baseball fan ever since the day my father took me watch the Astros vs. Reds in the Dome when I was knee high to a june bug. Met Johnny Bench and Pete Rose at breakfast the morning of the game. Pete was an absolutely pr*ck and wouldn't sign a thing. He even told me to "get the F out of here kid". I'll never forget that as long as I live.

Bench, on the other hand, called me to him and signed my glove without hesitation, then proceeded to tell Pete "You're an a-hole. He's just a kid."

I'm a Red Sox fan and Astros fan. Rarely watch games, these days, but I when I get the chance, I'm watching.

    Born and raised baseball player/fan

Yes...that's right, a girl that played baseball (and was pretty darn good too). How many people can say that they've been beamed by a 104mph fastball by a guy that ended up going pro...and yes, we're ignoring the fact that he ended up trashing his elbow and never making it big...but that's irrelevant.

And, I'm a  BREWERS FAN:heart: ! I don't care how rough it's been this year, there's nowhere I'd rather be during the summer than at the ballpark, Summer Shandy in hand, watching my crew play ball

Who doesn't like baseball??? Is the better question! Baseball is the American sport. But you have to be a National league fan if you truly like baseball, the American league pitchers need to grow a set! Just saying. Reds fan for life! Watch every game possible. I can watch any game any level any time!

Have been a baseball fan for 25 years. Coach it every year with my boys, play when I can, watch it 162 + playoff games, travel to as many stadiums as possible. We also have the AA Springfield Cardinals here in MO and even though I am not a Cardinals fan, still love watching Minor League ball.

Baseball was something that my Grandmother and I shared. She took me to many ST games in AZ when I came and visited her. It's about the memories, the smells, that feeling when you walk into the stadiuma and it just "opens up".

So yeah, I am a fan.....

Yeah, it was painful when we made it to the WS in 2005 just to roll over for the White Sox.

This is awesome.... like the game. I've eat, drank, and slept baseball for decades. Good to see so many fans passionate about baseball.

BTW, in my OP I didn't mean to imply that if you cared about a particular team you didn't love the game. Obviously that isn't the case. Cheer for your teams!!! (But a great double play with 1 out and a man on 3rd is still a great double-play no matter what the uniform....get my meaning?)

I sitll love baseball, although I have come to like it less over the last 15-20 years with all the scandals. However, I think it is still the hardest pro sport to play (mainly due to the hitting aspect) and I love the NL as it is more of a chess match. I am a long suffering Cubs fan and can only hope and pray Theo can do the same for my Cubs that he did for Bastan.

You're right man... I enjoyed being in the stands for Verlander's no-hitter a few years ago, even though it was against my Brewers... I was more pissed that Tigers fans were leaving (clearly having no clue what was going on) then the actual loss
