Hi all,

So i have lost 26 pounds so far...i have another 12 pounds to go. I have followed a low-ish carb diet and exercised. I am now getting to the stage where i feel smaller but my bottom half still feels and looks huge.

Are there any foods i should avoid or eat more of?? to help reduce fat from the lower half?

thank you xxx

I am pear shaped as well. I honestly don't think there are certain foods that can help or hender a specific area. A lot of our problem is genetics. I would just concentrate on weight training to tone and tighten as much as possible. The muscle will help burn the fat. That and and a healthy diet is probably about all you can do.

^^ this & I can attest to that based from my own personal experience. Also just be more patient, our body is functioning on a First In Last Out system, the first one to gain fat is the last one to lose it.

You can't just reduce the lower half.. anything that you do will help reduce fat from all over.

My suggestion is to eat closer to half a pound a week loss and strength train(squats, lunges, step ups, etc). No need to eat low carb or anything specific like that.

Agreed with everyone else. Diet won't change genetics. Even as a skinny teenager, I was pear shaped. Short of plastic surgery, you're stuck with what nature gave you. I lost 30 pounds total and didn't see a whole lot of reduction in my upper thighs until the last 10 pounds for some reason, so be patient!

You cannot spot reduce. It all depends on how your body works, just continue to eat healthy and train hard and you will see the difference.

Do cardio (run up and down the stairs if possible), and definitely squats and lunges. Good luck ! :)

This. Cardio (Stairs, Jogging, Swimming) and Strength (squats, lunges, pilates, etc)

P.S. I'm pear shape too. I notice the most change in my lower half when I am jogging and doing pilates, squats, lunges, etc.
