Back for good!

I joined MFP a couple years back, was doing OK, fell off and thought I could go I my own.

:noway:

Well... I finally got hit with a hard doze of reality by an unnamed Airline several days ago. They were going to charge me extra to travel because of my size (they did not they did not on the originating trip). I was initially upset about this, but after settling down, I felt embarrassed about this and thus, there are no more excuses.

When I think about goals, I need to get tracking on the foods I am eating, and not over indulge. Learn to cut out the soda and other foods (especially the chips at night). I'd love to get to my wrestling weight when I was a senior in high school - 215 lbs. but I know that the road is going to be hard and challenging; especially during the summer months with picnics, camping and other family functions.

So I'm setting some milestones for myself.

Starting Weight: 385
Weight by Labor Day: 365
Weight by Thanksgiving: 350
Weight by New Years: 340 (i need to be careful here)
Weight by Easter: 315
Weight by this time next year: 299 (last saw <300 in 2004)

Overall Goal: 215!

I think some of the goals are attainable with persistence!

    Hi Scott,
Sorry to hear about your airline situation, but glad it has got you back here.
I am 43 and have tried to lose weight all off my adult life, I started here on January 1st and haven't looked back.
Your goals all seem realistic and do-able, In fact I bet you will probably smash them!
Add yourself some friends ( really does help to have people cheering you on) you are welcome to add me, I'm gonna be around a while yet!

    Good luck

Wish you the best of luck. I am also wanting to get down to around the low 200's. Its all about patience at this point. I also hated being in a airplane couple years ago and the person next to me with the look of disgust as I overlapped into their seat.

I'm so sorry to hear about your embarrassing situation. The dread - that and roller coasters.
