I didn't avoid it... I ate chinese food. Of course my portion size was small but the fact that I was putting all that deep fried food in my body made me feel bad afterwards. This is me ranting. About to go see how many calories I can burn off before the sun goes down!

I know a lot about nutrition than I should because of the cuisine known as Chinese Food...... (Boneless Spare Ribs with Plantains (Tostones.. Dominican in me) with a side of white rice). The delivery and restaurant knew my name voice address and order to a T. That is a PROBLEM.
I started by putting away them big ol portions (feeds one hahahaha NO my family used to get one of those things and feed FOUR. what made me think it was ok to eat one by myself?): either half of it for the next day or in 2 other containers (for 3 servings). Rarely did I eat it all at once. Now it's becoming habit to stop ordering.
I agree with veggies being a much better option. I switched out of rice a long time ago, for example. Not like plantains are better lol, but like at mall chinese places for ex I get lo mein. Not great but better. After awhile trust me, this works:
I want CHINESE!!!!!.......Do I really want it? .... Look at the Biggest Loser participants (at day 1, not at the end). Drink 16 oz of water. Eat a piece of gum. Look at decreasing wallet. NVM.0 -

OMG Those are 2 of my favorite things! I haven't had Chinese in I don't know how long, but I prefer the fried foods over the non-fried. Luckily I don't like rice in general so I don't have to worry about that. *kitten*, now I want Chinese.0 -
I had the same issue last night and had Beef with Mushrooms... Still feel guilty today... But damn... It was tasty...0

traditional chinese food is not greasy or meat loaded. it's mostly vegetables and rice with just a bit of meat or chicken or seafood for flavor. Fish is a good chinese food! steamed with chung choy and ginger! yum!!! low in fat and claories! It's always the americanized versions of foods that have the fat and grease.0

I'm eating chinese right now. Asian PB2 chicken. YUM. Just make it yourself where you can control the ingredients and calories0

I could probably never eat Chinese again and be ok with it. At the beginning of my weight loss project, I hadn't eaten it in about a month, and I was eating pretty clean otherwise, and my bf was dying for it. So I said, eff it, i can make some smarter choices.... And I did, but I was VIOLENTLY ill about an hour after I was done eating. I was so unaccustomed to the grease at that point that my reaction may have permanently scared me off of my beloved chicken fingers...0

Pretty much my favorite food group ever + being married to an Asian = part of why I got so fat! I guess I will keep him anyway!0

I think Chinese food is one of my top weaknesses :grumble: but the fact that you were able to keep the servings small is huge! I havent reached that step yet I still eat until I cant  when it comes to chinese food. Dont be too hard on yourself just make sure you get in a good work out for today0

Love that especially combined with Yang Chow fried rice mmmmmmmmmm
EDIT: Just by reading all the posts here makes me hungry.0 -
The issue I have is the amount of Sodium in it.0

I love Chinese food too. My family likes the buffets. I really try to avoid it but if we go I try to eat a lot of brocolli. Don't know if that is a good thing. :sad:0
-
I LOVE you, Chinese food! You are the devil, but it only makes me love you more.0
-
I guess the fact that I still have China Garden in my phone says it all!0

same here. my hands and feet would swell up to like twice their normal size. also got that with fake mexican :laugh:0 -
I love Chinese, too! There's a big buffet in my town and it has sauteed spinach and cheese, large pieces of stewed beef, and a salad bar. My favorite food of all there is the sushi bar; I would really like to try making it at home and using cauliflower instead of the rice but knowing my cooking, it would probably be horrible!0
