Just be...

This is what my fiance said to me last night when I was sharing my frustration with weight loss. It's been extra hard this time around due to many different factors. My age, hormones, stress level. I feel like I am fighting a losing battle. I asked him what "just be" meant and he basically said it was my mentality. If I think I can be successful at weight loss. If I want to be that healthy and toned person that I use to be - then I have to believe I can do it and follow the plan. I like that. So now, I have decided to just be. I am going to be healthy, I am going to be strong, I am going to be successful. I'm just going to be.

Have you ever had someone say something to you that caused a turning point in your weight loss mentality? Please share.

I love that! He's so right. Over the past year I have tried a few different diets and my conclusion: "don't diet". Eat healthy and exersise. Take it day by day. I will be fit and healthy if I keep moving in that direction. :)

Love it! And so true! Sometimes I get too 'end result' orientated that I forget to enjoy the everyday successes. Everyday you choose to be healthy and make good choices is a WIN!!!!!

And believe me Mrsgoodwine....I can TOTALLY relate to the hormone thing!!!!!!!! Damn menopause! But it's just a hurdle, if we hang in there and do our best...we'll be rewarded down the road!!

He is so right! Nobody knows better than you, what's right for you. You alone have the ability to be perfect. You/we need to erase all the self-defeating ideas that are wandering around in our heads.- and just be! If we don't someone is going to take advantage of us and then we're lost. You know what you need to do, that's right for you, and you just do it!

So true. Worrying about my weight isn't going to do anything. Just enjoying a healthier lifestyle, enjoying making healthy meals and chatting with my husband and knowing it's not a race, but I'm going to get there has helped me enormously.

I love that. "just be." :-)

My child psychology instructor in college said, during a lecture, "nobody can make anybody else mad, or sad, or happy." He was talking about the power we give other people. He will never know it, but he released me from feeling responsible for other people's satisfaction. I love him for that.
