Reached my goal weight:- 77lbs (5st 7lbs) lost in total

Hi everyone,
I reached my goal weight last week after 1 year and 6 months of making lifestyle changes. I am 5ft 4in and started out at 201lbs (14st 5lbs) after putting on a lot of weight at University. I had a lot of success on the weight watchers plan but I started to use MFP to lose the remaining weight when I reevaluated my goals. I took a good look at my diet and portion sizes, joined a gym and took up spinning and running.

I now weigh 124lbs (8st 12lbs) going from a UK size 18/20 down to a UK 8/10. I can honestly say I have never been this small, even in my teenage years so it's taking a bit of adjustment but I've never felt better :D.

I am now moving into maintenance mode (which is scary!) and plan to start some weight training to build some muscle and improve my physique so I will be sticking around on here :)

I just want to say thank you to all my MFP friends who have supported me, it's very much appreciated.

How inspirational you are! Congratulations on the weight goal, and even more congrats on your new fitness goals! It's so neat that you are talking about improving your physique because it helps us all remember that "weight" by itself isn't really what is important. Healthy is what we're after, and you don't get healthy without muscle tone and fitness.

Thanks and consider this a standing ovation:

Congratulations! We are the same height and started out about the same weight, but I'm stuck with trying to get those last 20 pounds off. Your pictures give me a point of reference as to what I can look forward to. You are a beautiful young lady.

Thanks for all your lovely comments :)

For those asking about the final 15-20lbs; they were definitely the hardest. I found that it was a slower process, so I didn't expect a big loss every week. I found that it was very important not to find this discouraging and to keep at it. I also found that increasing my exercise helped a lot too.

Most importantly I found the key was not to starve myself. I had a long plateau at 130lbs but I noticed I had been netting my calories at below 1200 for most of the week. I found that once I had started netting at 1400-1600 a day, the weight started to come off again and I felt much better in myself (more energy etc).

Fieldskathy, the only advice I have really is to think about your plan in the long term, try to have a loose plan of your meals and exercise in advance if you can, but also know that the odd treat every now and again is a good thing. I think I have definitely learnt that 'everything in moderation' is the way to go.

If anyone would like to add me, feel free. I'd like to think I'm a pretty supportive MFP friend ;)
