I first tried almond milk today in my cereals and loved it. I would really like to switch from cow milk to that but I red that almond milk has a lot less protein than cow milk... Does it matters? And one reason I prefer almond milk is that its hormone free!
And can you susbstitute it in all recipe like waffles, cakes, mashed potatoes, ect?

    1. It may depend on where you live, but I can find many hormone free brands of cow's milk.

    2. Almond milk having less protein only matters if you aren't getting enough protein elsewhere in your diet. Like everything else, balance out your macronutrients.

    3. Yes, you can substitute almond milk for cow's milk in any recipe.
  • Thank you.

I've tried Soya and Almond Milk. I just couldn't handle the nutty taste on Almond Milk lol. I really enjoyed Soya, but read it can cause problems with hormones in the long run. Me being a dude, I don't fancy messing up my hormones lol. So I just have regular milk, whole or skimmed.

I love Silk's Pure Almond Dark Chocolate almond milk and use it for some of my protein shakes. Tasty!

Almond milk is great! Kudos for making the healthy decision to switch. If you want a little protein boost, I found So Delicious brand one time that had additional plant protein added to it. It was called almond plus, I believe.

I definitely did NOT think the So Delicious Plus Protein was very delicious at ALL. Blech.

I love almond milk- I use it for nearly anything I would normally use cows milk for, except homemade cream of tomato soup- I just thought the taste wasn't quite right. but I have used it in cream gravy, on cereal, in pancakes and waffles - pretty much any thing, and I still get plenty of protein I use diamond brand unsweetened 40 cal almond milk every day

According to the database here Silk Original Almond Milk has 1 gram of protein vs. 8 grams for 2% milk. Soy milk has 6 grams.

Have an egg with your cereal. That's 6 more.
