Stuck in a Rut! Need some help, please.

So I'm stuck in a rut. I haven't lost anything in a week. This week I've been walking three times , I went swimming once, and I got to ride my X-bike once this week. But haven't had time for much else lately. I can tell that my calves are becoming more defined, but everything else is the same. I keep telling myself that I want to lose weight slowly so that my skin has time to catch up, but I would like to see something on the scale each week. Is there something that I can do to get out of this rut?

Here's some info:

I've lost 37 lbs so far since Jan 2012. I'm on 1350 cals/day. I walk for 30-60 mins 3-4 times a week, do some calisthenics (jumping jacks, jogging in place, squats, push-ups, crunches, lunges) with 5 lbs weights 6 times a month, ride my exercise bike 2-3 times a week for 30 mins on lvl 4/5 of 8, run in my back yard with the dog 3-4 times a week, and take care of a 4 year old full time. I don't count anything with the dog or my daughter towards exercise, but I figured every little thing does add up. I am currently at 201lbs down from 237.5 and I'm only 5'2" so I know how horribly overweight I was and still am, but I'm trying to fix that.

Can you open your diary so people can give you advice?
  • hide that scale of yours....and keep up the good work... the reason why your not seeing a change onthe the scale is that your startingto gain muscle.. muscle weighs the same as fat it just takes up less space... so hit the weights more and watch out for your simple carbs and sugars, and dont drink ur calories, juices, sodas, etc ..good luck

Likely muscles holding water - drink more water....watch sodium intake and eat back some not all exercise calories....
I have been in a rut for 51 days...not lost a thing technically however I am smaller and can see muscle! I will take that :) Try measuring in another and not just weight - maybe push harder on the treadmill, run an extra minute, life a heavier weight. It's not just about weight loss :)
