I have older (got in my teens) stretch marks on my hips that I absolutly hate. They are silver and pretty faded but they still bother me. I finally have the body I want, but now I am worried about showing these stretch marks. Anyone have any advise. What to buy what not to buy. THANK YOU.

Unfortunately creams don't really work. Been looking for creams all my life and tried many and nothing has really worked.0

Bio oil twice a day helped mine fade but they are not completely gone...0

I have the same problem My hips and boobs grew too fast and it wasn't to weight gain, it was just to becoming a women. If anyone has the magic answer, I would love to know!0

The Mederma works, but is really expensive!0

Bio Oil is nice, and anything with coconut in it is meant to help. I suppose it's helping keep your body hydrated, so I'm not sure how well they work, but I like them! Good luck!0

Bio Oil also worked pretty well for me. It's a bit greasy, but I noticed a difference in their appearance within about 3 weeks.0

Tried bio oil. No effect. Once they are scarred over (silvery color), they are there for good. Bio oil and creams may work on newer stretch marks that are still red or purplish, but not for older ones.0

I use Coco-butter but its only lighten them up, I still have stretch marks. They don't show up in photos as much as they did before. I guess it depends on the lighting. I know that once I hit my ultimate goal I'm going to get the Mederma done.
I think weight loss helps with the fade of them more then the actual coco-butter0 -

However, my brother uses it for stretchmarks on back, biceps and chest from working out and they are purple stretch marks.. but mederma worked for that..0

I thought that any cream would only make them that silvery color.. =/ Mine on my belly are deep red. When I started getting that color (at age 20) I knew I had to lose.. but like I said I'm only 20 and never have been prego so I don't want stretch marks.. =/ So I'd like to know if there has been anything to help them go away....0

I'm pretty sure nothing really works to make them gone. The bio oil helps them fade. If you get a spray tan it makes them less visible.
Also, I read somewhere not too long ago about Johnson's skin perfecting oil. worth a shot!0 -
Hvaing been in the beauty industry for many years I can tell you than NONE of them will make stretch marks dissapear. They can reduce the appearance, reduce some of the redness but this is torn tissue and no cream will repair it. Keeping your skin well hydrated will reduce the risk of stretch marks forming, however once the tissue is torn, the damge is done.0

You can't get rid of stretch marks. They'll always be there, for the rest of your life. Embrace them. :flowerforyou:
With that said, if you want to help them fade from the purple-red that they start out to be to a mild silvery skin tone color, BioOil has already given me a little bit of results after a few weeks. Good luck!0 -
Mederma is so expensive - £30 ($47)!0

Spot on - I worked as a beauty journalist and have had panels of women trying every product on the market. It's simple biology - once the damage is done, it's done. But they do fade with time and fake tan can help cover them up. Keeping the skin moisturised will also help the appearance as the skin will look soft. At the end of the day they are like cellulite - most people have them and it's just one of those things we cannot change.0 -
I've used Maderma on the ones on my stomach from my daughter. They aren't 100% gone but they are A LOT lighter and they no longer turn bright red/pink in the sun/heat. Before using it, if I laid out in the sun, they would turn bright red/pink/purple. I was so embarassed. Last year I used it for about 2 months before going to the beach a few times and you could barely tell they were there. I mean...they were there but they had lightened up and blended in a lot better after some tanning.0

I did really well until I had my twins... then my tummy looked like a road map of Chicago... they are faded now, but I don't think they will ever be gone unless they are surgically removed.0

I'm sorry to tell you that NOTHING helps with stretch marks. Stretch marks occur when the collagen within the skin start to break down. It is this which enables your skin to ping back into shape.Think of your skin as the elastic in your knickers....sometimes they just go out of shape and never recover no matter what you do. Everybodys skin is different and collagen will break down at different rates. This is why you can even get stretch marks, no matter how skinny you are. I work in the beauty industry and spray tan a lot of people of all shapes and sizes and believe me skinny people do have stretch marks too.0

No moisturiser makes stretch marks fade...Time will make them fainter regardless of what you apply and how much it costs...HOWEVER moisturing will make your skin feel smoother and softer. When you feel great it gives you more confidence. Try a little bit of fake tan with moisturiser to give you a natural glow and confidence boost. Learn to say "what the hell". People will always notice your confidence an not pay any attention to your stretch marks...promise0

I have seen results from a freind on here that uses Maderma. From what I could tell, it worked extremely well.0

microdermabrasion is a laser surgery I'd like to get done but I don't know how much it cost. I know that my doctor offers it, I might go in for a free conciliation.0
