New Orleans is my absolute favorite city in the US. To-do list: See Big Al Carson perform at the Funky Pirate, Sit around the piano at Lafite's Blacksmith Shop, Catch an Irving Mayfield performance at the Royal Sonesta, Have an oyster po-boy at Johnny's Po- Boys, Enjoy a plate of grilled oysters at Acme Oyster Co, washed down with a couple Abita Ambers, Have a late night snack at Clover Grill, have another late night snack at one of the Lucky Dog carts. This should get you through your first night there LOL...any other questions, feel free to send me a message :-)

Try everything, unfortunately all the food is horrible there if your on a diet lol. You can get a peanut butter burger, salad and baked potato at Yo Mama's lol. I guess the fish stuff isnt horrible but they fry everything! Cafe Du Monde for chicory coffee, get a muffaletta from the Grocery store just down from Cafe Du Monde. Just enjoy the sites of bourbon street and all the other cross streets. Its a lot of walking but worth it. Oh and hope you arent easily offended :)

    I'm there tomorrow.

    Go to:

    - Port of Call (BEST BURGER EVER)

    - Frankie and Johnny's (hole in the wall but VERY good! Tourists don't know about this place)

    - Make sure to visit the Snowball place on Palm St. Seriously, you've NEVER had a snowball like this and you want to visit this one because it's been around since the 60's. DELICIOUS.

Hey all! Thanks for the tips!!! I think I'll have my trip planned by the end of the night!!!!

Where can I catch the good music? Not a dancer/club person, I mean jazz and other greats!

I'm not sure the dates you're visiting but this club has something pretty much every night. A great local club for great local jazz bands.

Head out to Rock & Bowl. Great fun.
And all the good music is down Frenchmans at the far end of the French Quarter.
