Invest in a heart rate monitor. The treadmills can be so far off on the calorie count. There is not sure way of getting an accurate calorie burned count but a heart rate monitor will get close. Usually with treadmills you need to subtract 10 to 20 percent of what it tells you to be close.0

Monitor mileage walked. The treadmills I use at my gym are off by about 80 calories from what my heart rate monitor says. So now I just use the mileage as a guide to help me increase distance.0
