I did the fit test today and burned around 300 cal. I had to modify a few things because I'm so out of shape, so I didn't have the "correct posture" but I still put my whole effort into it. It was so hard (especially when the toddlers I babysit are asking me why I couldn't do what they were doing and that it looked so hard). I enjoyed the burn, though. It was my first work out in months

I'm on week 2 of it myself! I do really like it, even though it's tough, but that's what keeps me going! I also use a HRM to keep track of calories burned :-) Best of luck!!

I just started Insanity yesterday. It wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be even tho it was only the fitness test. I AM scared for my second day. Any tips?

Also, does anyone know how to log this in daily? I try not to eat my exercise calories. But i think i may need to now.

    Thanks!

Use your HRM! I was so hungry after doing Insanity I ended up eating all the calories back. However when I got my HRM I realized I was only burning half what I thought. So I ended up gaining weight.

I just started month two today, and wow now that's Insanity ;) my advice would be to go at your own pace do not try to keep up with those beasts on there unless of course you are in the same great shape they are because you will kill yourself trying to keep up with them. Its tough, but nothing you can't handle, and I love every minute of it. You can do this...good luck!

I've completed 3 rounds of Insanity... First thing, do the best you can.. If you need to take breaks, take a break, catch your breath then jump back in... Even the fitness professionals on the video take breaks... The program is designed to push you to your limits and force you to take a break.. 2nd, Drink lots of water. It helps with muscle sorenss.. 3rd, If you gain a few pounds during the first week, don't worry. It's your muscles trying to protect themselves by retaining water. 4th, besure to fuel your body. Eat enough. 5th and most important.. Have fun!!! Try to enjoy the hardwork!!!

Good Luck and just keep pushing yourself...

I CURRENTLY DO INSANITY AND HONEY YOU WILL LOVE IT! I THINK DAY 2 IS PLYO WHICH IS MY FAVORITE! ITS VERY CHALLENGING FOR THE 41 MINUTES AND YOU WILL BE MOVING ALOT BUT IT IS AWESOME! YOU FEEL GREAT AT THE END! PUSH AND PUSH THROUGH ALL OF THE WORKOUTS! DRINK PLENTY OF WATER AND MAKE SURE YOU EAT AN HOUR BEFORE BECAUSE YOU WILL NEED ALL OF YOUR ENERGY. ALWAYS BREATHE THROUGH ALL OF THE EXERCISES TO PROVIDE YOUR BODY WITH OXYGEN AND I USE A HRM TO RECORD MY BURNS. I GO UNDER ADD EXERCISE, CARDIO, AND ALL THE WAY AT THE BOTTOM I SELECT ADD NEW EXERCISE AND YOU PUT THE NAME, TIME, AND CALS BURNED. I DID IT THIS MORINING AND GAVE IT MY ALL ONLY STOPPING 3 TIMES FOR LIKE 10 SEC EACH FOR WATER AND BURNED 975 CALS! OTHER DAYS I BURN FRM THIS SPECIFIC ONE 500-600 WHEN I DONT PUSH THROUGH. HOPE THIS HELPS!

    Anything BigEd335 says.. I agree:

I hate working out. But, Insanity works really well and it is the program that i enjoyed the most. I'm almost done with it but decided to take a break last week because in conjunction with my crazy soccer schedule.... I burned too many calories and I couldn't keep up with the eating. I'm serious. I'm 5'10" and I got from 165LB to 150LB in two months and I dropped another 3-4 to 145 last week. So I took my friends advise to ease down the cardio a little bit. I woke up this morning kinda missed it but decided to do strength training instead. Definitely going back when I got my weight stabilized.

My other trick is take a longer pause at the break. Insanity is designed on the Max Intensity concept. Therefore, Try to take a longer pause on your DVD at the beginning and try to keep up with the guys during the routine. after 2-3 sessions, you will not need those extra pause any more. Again, for Insanity, It's the intensity that counts.

Feel free to add me. But, definitely add BigEd.

    Hey,

I am doing my first round of Insanity as well! I still struggle with the workouts a lot but I follow akaporn's advice and take longer breaks during the pauses. Also, if you feel like you are getting extremely exhausted take a short break and jump right back into the exercise and give it 100%. Best of luck!

 I'm on month 2 week 3 of insanity. It has been a blast. I didnt think that I could actaully do it and I am almost done with it. I'm def going to keep doing this. I use a heart rate monitor with all the workouts and I eat back almost all my workout calories. you dont want to put yourself into starvation mode. Good luck with this! You can add me as a friend if you would like.

I just finished it, and yeah, it's totally rewarding if you stick with it. I am taking a week off from it and might do it a few times a week until I start a P90X/Insanity hybrid program. I'm a 12-time marathoner, and this was a totally new challenge.
