    I just broke the trust of a very dear friend of mine. I have broken their heart and rehashed some painful memories because of it :sad: Can I ever get this trust back or is it gone forever??? :frown: I feel so horrible and can't stop this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I wish I could start this day over again and keep my big mouth shut! :grumble:

      I slept with my friend's ex that she was still in love with. If I can be forgiven for that, I'm sure you can be forgiven for the mistake you made. :)

      Mistakes can be forgiven, I also broke someone's trust not too long ago, it sucks and I wish I could make things right...time heals all wounds.

      My experience says that I if I have wronged someone, the only way I can forgive myself (much less them forgive me) is to do everything in my power to make things right! I wish you the best and hope that things can get better with you and your friend! I HATE that feeling more than just about anything in the entire world!

      I think what works is an apology and doing everything in your power to make it right, otherwise an apology is just words. Then the rest is up to your friend...

      I am the same way, its even worse if I feel like I can not 'fix' it.

      This is how I am feeling, that I can't fix it now that it is truly broken. They are the type of person that when they friend you it is for life but if you break the trust....look out!
